  1. Looks good on mobile, wouldn’t be upset if it stayed this way. Conversely, I wouldn’t be arsed if it changed back.

The posting of tweets from our Twitter is annoying as fuck mind, goes all laggy when you try and get to the latest post but that was the case before the downtime.

The graphics on screen are fucking shit though.

Not a fan of the concept of the 5 balls/over, even though the term 'over' isn't applied. The random 'stay at the same end' bowling is pointless, too.

There’s a few bits they need to iron out and inevitably will but it’s a good watch and I can see it having the impact Twenty-20 had when that was first thought up twenty-ish years ago.

  3. Been three cases at work and my girlfriends sister and her fella have it, with my girlfriend having to isolate but not me, and I’m off to Wembley tomorrow. Inevitable that I get it or get a ping on the app really.

  4. The very early rounds of the FA Cup preliminary rounds have been released this afternoon. I am actually around and free for both the first two rounds and there’s a couple of local games to me and now I’m half tempted to see how many rounds in I get before I can’t a ticket somewhere.

  6. I wonder what odds I’d get on July becoming August? With the hot weather the last week or so and the Euros in two weeks when we’re looking at this period, I can’t see how it’s not going to be high figures for this variant or whatever branch of the variant we move on to.

  7. The league allocations for Step 3-6 have been released this afternoon. Step 3 has not changed at all, whereas Step 4 has expanded and now covers eight divisions rather than seven.

My local side Harlow are now in the Southern League Central, having moved across from the Isthmian South Central. I’m sure 70% of the places in their new league are completely made up.

Right so who else do we have that supports non-league teams?

I watched two Harlow Town games this season, before it was curtailed. They were bottom of the 8th tier when the season was ended and were free falling to county level football. I’ll probably do a few of their games again next season, because it’ll be easy if there’s still restrictions on crowds.

I’ll also, hopefully, just be able to get to league football in places next season.

  9. I’m not one for comparing ban lengths, I don’t think it ever really helps and doesn’t really prove too much, however, ten games is lenient for what is a crime. I don’t want to get into “well, if you two footed an old woman in the street, you’d get prison” territory because, frankly, that’s weird but racism is not treated anywhere near as serious as it should be.

  10. Had a look at the draws myself and did a lucky 15. Weymouth have just scored deep into injury time to beat Maidenhead and mean I’ve ended with 1/4 selections as a though with the other three all decided by the odd goal.

I spent a bit of time looking at odds and implied chances of things happening because it does quite interest me. One thing I've always thought is that draws are a bit overpriced and even more strange, you often find games where the home team is 8/5 to win, the away team is 8/5 to win, yet the draw, a surely likely outcome implied by the fact the bookies themselves can't pick a favourite, is something like 12/5.

So I've started doing something where you back trebles of draws, always in games where the odds between the two teams are pretty tight. For a treble you get odds of around 25/1 at worst in this instances, and it's usually nearer 30/1.

Anyhow, so far, I've done five trebles, £5 each time. Two of them have won, and in total out of the 15 games I backed, 9 of them actually ended in draws.

Whilst I do take a longer term view here, I'm convinced landing those can't be as uncommon as that. I don't expect 40% of them to land, but I expect more than 4% of them to - which is what the odds imply.

I'm going to keep doing this and see where it gets me.

I love stuff like this. Well done.
