Haha, good for the club to show that they will not give in to any player's attempts to force a transfer. I do wonder if he'll play at all, though. The fans are furious and don't want to see him in a Werder shirt ever again. Will be hard to get their respect back, if that's even possible.

I didn't want to see him in a Werder shirt again before all of this. Imagine being an at best mediocre player and thinking you can pull this.

  2. It has been crazy just how much the big name players of the squad lost value over the last year or two. Yes some of it is covid of course, but the poor performance of the players to what they once were is massive. From some of what I have seen, between Eggestein and Rashica we lost around 20 to 30 million in value in the matter of a year or two. I am curious how much of that was down to the players themselves and how much was the coaching.

I wouldn't want to be in his position, to be honest. A bit hard to sign quality players with no money available 😅

He did create the problem by signing terrible players for too much money and not having quality players to sell. I really worry if we on counting on Füllkrug to be our striker this year.

Baumann said he expects to announce some new signings next week. As it stands now, still a lot of areas that need strengthening badly. DM (Aursnes?), two wingers, at least one striker, a RB. A lot of work to be done.

It is Baumann so I expect him to fail massively at this.

  5. Glad to see it finally happen, the club deserves no credit for any of this and Baumann has disgraced himself.

The entire season has been such a disaster, and if we are relegated having played the most boring style of any team in the bundesliga it will really be a cherry on top. Hopefully with Schaaf at the helm they give it a proper go in the final game.

  6. This club feels so rudderless under Baumann and Bode. I don't understand why Werder keep them around. The squad doesn't even have anyone of enough value to build around. Feels like even if they escape relegation this year, they will continue to flirt with it until it inevitably comes.

Finances, Covid, all the usual bullshit. Team has 6 good players in it. If that.

Yeah, it's been a better season, given we have a worse squad, but we've been luckier with injuries this season, played that fucking awful cunt Osako less, and we can now defend(sometimes) and defend set pieces.

Out of curiosity, who do you view as the 6 good players?

I remember when @Tommy was a yellow submarine, Dortmund were scrapping away with Bremen in a close game, and I said Junuzovic and Delaney were better than Sahin at the time. Tommy was outraged. Nex minute Sahin was at Bremen, Delaney was at Dortmund and everyone knows Dortmund were looking at Juno.

I'd say Ozil just sneaks it over Juno for me. Maybe even Frings too. But far out that lad had heart and talent to burn.

Great shout on Delaney, man I miss him. What a signing.

Don't worry, he's not fit for the Frankfurt match.

Sargent the only striker now, Woltemade maybe an option although Kohfeldt seems to have decided to play him in midfield, Dinkci might be included in the squad.

I kind of look forward to this. Sargent as the only striker I mean. I think everyone seems to be waiting for him to be a true, main striker. This is the first time and a chance to see what he can really do. Kind of a shit or get off the pot situation.

We badly need money. The club already applied for a KfW credit a while ago to relieve the financial burden after we lost 30 million Euro income due to corona, the credit hasn't been approved yet so we need to look for other ways to be able to generate money in the worst case scenario...

We'll see whom Baumann manages to sign tomorrow, in case both Klaassen and Rashica leave. Hard to attract quality with limited financial resources.

Ah, I knew about the credit but didn't realize it had not been approved yet. That makes more sense.
