Yeah there's no equating the two at all. And I say this as someone who fucking absolutely hates everything about Man Utd & Ferguson.

United got lucky in that the time where Ferguson took them to the top was when TV money really changed the game. And the top 20 sides in the country at the time deciding to break off from the football league to form the premier league to really whore out clubs for that TV money are more to blame for United's period of dominance and the wealth they built by being successful at that time.

It's unfortunate it was Man Utd who were that club that got to experience that "right place, right time" moment - but that is absolutely nothing like the UAE turning Manchester City into a tourism and business investment advertisement for themselves while breaking every financial rule they could to dope up the club's finances like Pep Guardiola playing in the Serie A.

Take a look at this for 90s spending.

Survival Horror game that actually keeps you on your toes till the very end

    • Fuck open world; we have enough of that already.
    • Players choose their stats as they start the game and do not level up once the character is built.
    • Corridor style shooting/action system
    • Just a knife, a shotgun and a pistol
      • Throw in a torch just to add to the horror
      • Torches can be used as a weapon when batteries run out
      • Enemies can lurk in dark spaces that can only be lit by torches.
      • Health is obtained very rarely so being mindful of environments and enemies is important.
    • Two antagonists who run after you through the whole game and are relentless till both of them are dead.
    • Heavily reliant on environmental damage to kill bosses / enemies.
    • Time limits on levels to force tension and survival instinct kick in
      • You gain more time by engaging the antagonists and winning the fight.
    • Perma-Death on failure
    • Co-Op with infect ratio gain so that if you get infected you now switch teams and start hunting your partner.
      • Max team-size: 4
      • No respawn just perma-death
      • Level does not reduce enemy count on partner conversion/death.
      • Converted players can team up with two antagonists to chase the non-infected team through the game.
    • Game gets slightly easier with bigger groups of protagonists.

I feel like someone will make something like this, but game design is quite hell-bent on having winners and heroes that turning someone to the other side seems like it wouldn't sell.

A single player, open-world pirate RPG game where choices matter.

A truly open-world, free-roam Star Wars game where you can travel around a fully-explorable vast universe (generated like in Space Engine) doing whatever the fuck you want.

An open-world hard sci-fi game with heavy focus on diplomacy, politics, trade, colonization, science & technology, terraforming of planets, etc. Preferably based on The Expanse, or just something similar.

A historically accurate game about preparing for and embarking on expeditions. Polar expeditions, Africa, Asia, etc. A mix of survival + sailing/traveling + making discoveries.

A single-player game set in pre-Colombian Americas, with historically accurate representation of nations/tribes. Heavy focus on politics, trade, culture.

A racing driver simulator where you start from grassroots motorsports as a kid, and move up the career ladder through various racing series.

Similar to above, an immersive first-person football player simulator game where you start in youth academy as a kid and try to make it to the top, and including detailed events both on and off the pitch. Something similar to the concept in I am Playr, which was a brilliant idea.

A proper game based on LOST TV series. So many possibilities there.

More couch co-op narrative-driven adventure games with a well-written story.

Isn't there a pirate game made by Ubisoft which came out this year?

We profited from the financial boom of the Premier League years, what do you want me to do apologise for having one of top managers in history?

Which ever way you want spin it the reality is our success was as lucky in the sense of the timing rather than us being the spear tip. United was built by the brilliance of a human rather then just money alone. That isn't the case with City, they've got the best from top to bottom by bending the rules and using their unlimited funds.

People worked hard in the marketing side of our club. I don't fully agree about it just being a 90s boom. We spent well in the 80s plus there were other spenders. Blackburn spent big as did Newcastle. If you look at this link below, look at who spent the most in the 90s.

Depends how you define fire first. Iran and Israel have been in a Cold War for decades now. Hamas is a proxy of Iran & Qatar, but Hezbollah is a distinctly Iranian proxy that the IRGC basically has total control over.

Like with Israel v Hamas, there’s no real “good guys” in a war with Iran & Israel. Just a lot of unwilling participants for a war that really only suits the 2 terrible leaders of the two countries.

I agree they've been at loggerheads for years but I think the timing last week with everything that's going on was on the stupid side.  I'm no expert on Iran if being honest but I have read up a bit on the Shah getting overthrown. I've seen videos of Iran under the Shah and the beaches were full. You got to see so many peoples feet.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why Fergie chose Moyes as his successor, maybe from what I saw at the time Fergie had left a message with Jose M to give him a call about taking over from him but Jose never returned the call so Fergie went for Moyes.

Fergie told Moyes to be your own man but don't do it all at once; take your time and leave things the way they are before you change things.

But Moyes fucked that advice up and did a clean sweep and chose his own boot and backroom boys and went his own ways and that was his downfall big time.

He also told Rio to take a leaf out of Phil fucking Jagielkas book.
