Senegal were clinical in front of goal in this game and have literally ended any hopes Qatar had of advancing to the next round. Senegal capitalised on a mistake by the Qatari defender to open the scoring. Dia didn't mess about as the Qatari defender slipped, as Dia lashed the ball home and into the net with power to give Senegal the lead. In the 2nd half, Senegal extended their lead through a diving header from Diedhiou as he connected superbly with a cross from a corner.

Qatar then came to life, Hassan had a long range shot fly narrowly past the post. Then Mendy came to the fore, as he dived to save a shot from Almoez that was heading towards the bottom hand corner of the net. Several moments later, Mendy made an even better save, as he blocked a close range volleyed effort from Mohammad. Eventually Qatar got their goal, as the cross came in, Muntari directed his towering header down and into the corner of the net. In the 84th minute though, Senegal sealed the match, as Bamba Dieng pulled a shot off at goal from a cross, to score Senegal's 3rd goal. Senegal will now need to beat Ecuador in their final group game if they want to move onto the Round of 16.
