Málaga was used as a scam by a Gulf magnate who thought that by owning the club he could accomplish certain things in the surrounding area that wouldn't normally be permitted to him. Unfortunately for Málaga the local government and then the state  told him that this was never going to occur and he lost interest in the club (he had no real interest in the club to begin with).

There are so many things I can write on this but I'll refrain from doing so because it can actually seem rather unsettling to some and I haven't got the time to write in enough detail so as to create the bigger picture on what the whole shabang was all about.

Sad for Málaga, but would've been worse for the region had this scumbag got what he wanted.
