Dave Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I cannot believe he was 94. The man devoted his life to Aston Villa. It's sad to see there's very few like him in the upper echelons of the game.
Fairy In Boots Posted October 16, 2018 Author Posted October 16, 2018 I’m not a fan, I get it he went to every game and built a great infrastructure etc but he also ripped apart a European cup winning side out of spite because he wasn’t involved and constantly hamstrung us in the years that followed by penny pinching when we needed to invest. He was a megalomaniac and because of him the 3rd most (6th now) most successful club in English football has won 2 league cups in 30 years, he started the rot. I’m also not alone in thinking this, risky to go for a minutes silence because he was a very divisive figure amongst villa fans.
SirBalon Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 For me I've always seen him as Mr Aston Villa and because I'm not a Villa fan I can't have the right to comment on the deep ins and outs because I now only very basic negative issues but without a doubt he loved that club. RIP
