  1. Myself, and I'm pretty sure almost every Chelsea fan here, will disagree with that. 2014 Matic, I would stand by the claim that he was arguably the best DM in the world at the time. That mainly had to do with Mourinho's tactics, as he helped us absorb pressure and break on the counter. But since his injury in 2015, he hasn't been anywhere close to the player he once was other than the occasional good performance. The 3-4-3 was a revelation to the Premier League, and teams didn't know how to set up against us. It was only against Spurs at the lane last season where we got truly exposed. You put pressure on our back 3 as well as our wing backs, we are screwed. We have vastly limited wing backs in Moses and Alonso, and Kante's on the ball ability as a midfielder isn't 'great' and Matic turns into a donkey in headlights under pressure. With all this set into place, we get over run in the middle. Don't take my word for it, look at teams setting up against us last season vs. this season. Last season, Matic literally took the ball, looked up and found a pass with relative ease. This season, teams such as Watford, Palace, Burnley, etc. They knew what to do against us and they knew our weakness and exposed it. You have to remember we had no European football last season, which played a HUGE factor. CarefreeLuke will go bonkers when he reads your last sentence mate. . Matic was bar none terrible the 2nd half of last sesaon. The 2nd half of last season was where Kante got a bump on his statsitical numbers, because he was arguably doing the work of 2 midfielders. Matic was passive, lethargic, and slowed down the tempo of our play. He gave up possession so easily and his movement off the ball in defence was appalling. It was a point where his limitations of a footballer were exposed. So unbelievably inconsistent. Matic might look better now in a 3 man midfield now that he has to cover less ground, but it can't be ignored how utterly awful he was for us during that period of the season. You just have to look at Spurs in the FA Cup semi final and Arsenal in the Final to see my point. Nothing but a passenger. The main difference what Bakayoko brings us, is his dynamism. His ability to run forward with the ball, which has worked well in our system. Despite his recent performances, he has done well in almost every big game this season, Atletico away, United at home, and last night against Arsenal were easily his best performances. I have patience with him due to his age, but I have no doubt in my mind he was a better long term solution and better fit for the system than Matic.
  2. The board didn't lose us our CF, they just failed to adequately strengthen the team even though we had 4 months to do so. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. I'm fairly certain Conte understood his role, but I'm also fairly certain that he didn't expect the board to completely ignore his targets and instead spend huge amounts of money on bang average players. To be honest, I'm coming to a point where I want the 3 at the back to vanish all together. I'd like to see this back 4. Palmieri---Rudiger---Christensen---Azpiliceta Courtois
  3. Here's an idea, how about the board actually get the players Conte wants? In a system where we are so dependant on our wingbacks, we were foolish to go into the season relying on Alonso and Moses despite their limitations.
  4. I'm sure it involved a certain devil dick willie
  5. And all have had extrodinary careers since. Honestly Arsenal are a mess
  6. You'd think the way United have been attracting so many top players, they'd have more to show for it rather than 1 league title in 5 years
  7. It's a confidence thing. We bought him for his dynamism and his ability in driving forward with the ball. Good run of performances should have his head sorted. He's still quite young though.
  8. Update: Palmieri has apparently agreed personal terms and 4 year deal.
  9. Matt Law stating talks are undergoing for both Dzeko and Palmieri. Batshuayi likely to go the other way on loan. Still can't see it happening, as Roma will have no striker for the CL as Batshuayi will be cup tied.
  10. Who has more assists? Pogba. Who's 12 points clear? DeBruyne #manchesterisblue Christ I'm doing your work for you @Happy Blue
  11. Because he's not the type of man to manage another club in the same country of a club he has affiliation towards. That and the fact he always says he misses Italy. PSG would also be all over him if he becomes available.
  12. If he is going to leave, it won't be for another club in England. Either back at Juve or PSG.
  13. We've been accused of that before and nothing's happened.
  14. @The Rebel CRS I recommend you do what I'm doing. Played nearly 10 games last night and I'm playing some of the best football. For some reasons, with academy players, they play a lot better than what they are rated. They grow quickly as fuck too. I'm still drawing a bunch of games, but the football i'm playing is some of the best I've played in all FIFA. 16 games in. 7 wins. 6 draws. 3 defeats. Currently sitting 5th. Amante (63) Biviano (58)---------------------------De Nucci (63) Torreira (76)-------------Alonso (61) Ferrari (58) Murru (71)---Ricci (71)---Silvestre (75)---Rizzo (60) Viviano (82)
  15. Ditched my Chelsea career mode as it was piss easy. Wanted more of a challenge so started a new one with my family club Sampdoria. To increase the difficulty, I added 5 scouted youth players and 1 'scout future star' from the catalogue into the team. All are 17 years old. Currently sitting 7th with 6 games in. 2 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss. Haven't faced any of the big boys yet. The bolded are my youth players and the highlighted is my future star. Amante (62) Biviano (55)---------------------------De Nucci (60) Torreira (75)-------------Alonso (60) Ferrari (55) Murru (70)---Ricci (67)---Silvestre (75)---Rizzo (58) Viviano (82)
  16. Or maybe I like playing devils advocate Edit. I'll reply later when I get home.
  17. There were also laws where slavery was ok and for blacks to be considered less valuable than whites. How is it ridiculous? You just said yourself nature has shown survival of the fittest to be a factual thing. Lions kill other lions all the time whether it be entering other territory or becoming the alpha. We are not talking about killing for just consumption, we are talking about needlessly killing because I am superior to you.
  18. And then a Vegan would say, So If I were to kill you, would that be fine?
  19. They use that as their reasoning, even the morality is a completely subjective thing. The animals we eat are sentient beings. More so than not, vegans believe in speciesism. Why should a dog's life be seen higher than a pigs, when both show empathy and have feelings? We eat them because we are a superior being and have chosen them to become a source of nutrition. So by that logic, if an alien race were to come down and enslave us, we should be ok with the logic of that.
  20. PPPPPPPPPUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSS
  21. Well, good news is Matt Law is reporting we are FINALLY after another LWB. Emerson Palmieri of Roma (who looks quite impressive) Bad news is, he's injured. What the actual fuck is up with the fasination of buying injured footballers?
  22. Vegans' main argument is the concept of morality. Will you go up to a cow and slit its throat? Most likely than not many people will say no, yet these same people will eat a hamburger from McDonald's. You pay for someone to kill your food. On a morality standpoint, you can't argue against Veganism. But like I've mentioned, we've come so far as a society where meat is a commodity, that it is virtually impossible to implement veganism into our daily lives without major catastrophes.
