Pretty sure you should take a look at Alexander-Arnold’s defensive stats from last year and Kyle Walker’s defensive stats from last year. Yes he’s faster, but I’m not sure he’s actually any better defensively and Spain’s two goals & him being the weakest link in England’s defense all tournament I think have gone a bit under the radar. Probably because of how poor we generally were in attack.

Kyle Walker is definitely better than Trent Alexander-Arnold defensively. The only people that think otherwise are Liverpool fans. Not that it matters now that Gareth is gone, because if the new manager wants to play a back four, Ben White should be a certainty at right back unless he done something completely so outrageous he's not allowed back in to the camp.

  2. I will say I don't think there will be much optimism going in to the World Cup. There seems to be an expectancy, based on what we have seen this tournament, that Brazil and Argentina should hurt us with there attacking football. Then there's going to be a reaction from the likes of Germany, Italy and France following this tournament. Not to mention it wouldn't be a surprise if Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier retire now meaning we've gone from five good right backs to chose from four years ago to just Trent that's very questionable defensively given Reece James is always injured and Aaron Wan-Bissaka never pushed on.

The biggest issue that will hold us back now, and i hate to say it, is Gareth Southgate. He needs to make some big calls around whether the likes of Harry Kane, Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham are going to fit in to the best cohesive eleven and I don't see him doing it.

  3. This loss was hard to take.

Whilst the lack of clear cut chances we created was frustrating, and it's been a problem throughout the entire tournament, I don't think tactically we did anything major wrong against a more inferior team. Holding out until our subs can do damage was a fair strategy but the cross for the winning goal was perfect.

I think if I was in Gareth's position I would resign. The media have turned and with good reason. We simply should be getting more out of our front four and goals influence the way we play far too much. It cost us against Italy four years ago and it cost us again last night.

I get why the FA wouldn't want to sack him, after Capello there's probably a thought of 'better than devil you know' and Lee Carsley may be ready in 2 to 4 years but I can't see him improving this team now.

am so excited for tomorrow but I fucking hate a large portion of our entitled, stupid, racist, arrogant fans. Abuse Southgate, and those who missed penalties in the last final. The way the country has treated Southgate prior to the last game has been criminal. Our team hardly needs anyone to manage them, but typical English culture just loves someone to blame. I’ve gained so much respect for Southgate for how he has handled himself. I want us to win so bad, but at the same time I hate a large % of my own nation as I know I’m surrounded by entitled arrogant racist cunts.

The further we get in a tournament the higher the level of scum emerges. We werent the victims we were portrayed as in the media in 2016, then you had people trashing Ikea and people blocking in and jumping on Ambulances when we got momentum in 2018, then there was the last final we made at Wembley where I've never been so embarrassed to support England and even now you're hearing 'Ten German Bombers' chants later in the tournament.
