For what it's worth he was name dropped in close circles at the end of last season as the Championship player we were looking at. Which is why I didn't read too much in to Jobe Bellingham link.

@The Palace Fan Mjf was actually very popular as a face. Like I said I didn't really like him as a face myself. But I think it was the right idea at the time. Moxleys popularity was going down a bit at the time. Same for hangman page, Adam Cole isn't top face material in many people's eyes. Mjf was very popular at the time as a heel so it made sense.
I don't think anyone really cares about Jeff jarret to be honest. He's lower card
I never said MJF wasn't popular amongst the AEW fanbase?
The crowd response to Jeff Jarrett this week suggests otherwise. They're keeping him involved in the tournament for a reason.

Another sport we totally dominate.

God there is no fucking justice in the world is there?
I'm baffled that they had Jeff Jarrett lose in the first round of the Owen Hart after he gave the most emotive promo we will see in a very long time, but this is the wrong thread.

@6666 still no losses for Xhaka on German soil. The streak lives.

I’ve watched bits and pieces of games, I’ve watched one full game in the whole tournament, and while the public opinion and media is going to be about Gareth Southgate and England, the entertainment value throughout the tournament has been virtually zero. Eighteen draws across the board, thirteen in the groups, seven 1-0’s and twenty-eight games with two or fewer goals scored. Football is very dull these days.
Top level football for you. I really enjoyed Turkey vs Austria and the Georgia Spain games because they weren't Pep drilled versions of chess.

Haven't felt this demoralised and optimistic about a team since I watched my team managed by Alan Pardew.

Second yellow for Schar surely?

Hodgson tried playing Eze left back once against Chelsea during covid and it was the sad moment I realised he shouldn't be Palace manager anymore. I get the same vibes when I see Eze in a similar position.

If Sven-Goran Eriksson were as lucky as Southgate is in the draws, you guys probably would have won a major title in the early 2000s.
England had an open path to the final in 2018 and now in 2024.
I agree with 2002, I feel like Turkey, Germany or South Korea wouldn't have posed a threat to us. It just felt like a tournament where we'd eventually lose to Brazil.
2004 and 2006 though, I think more than one team would have had our number.

Yeah except Sven’s era as England manager at least produced some football that wasn’t so fucking rubbish to sit through.
It didn't by 2006 and that's the era I feel like we are in.

Who would have thought playing a left footed left back would improve the team.

I don't think watch England regularly, but from what I've seen Foden and Bellingham can't coexist.
Southgate should choose between one of them and start either Belligham or Foden centrally.
England lacks pace and threat with Bellingham on the left-wing.
It's very Sven/Lampard/Gerrard vibes.

All the dickheads doing lineups without England's most consistent player can go jump off a bridge.
Bit harsh. Guehi was suspended.
