The answer is already there, drop Bellingham in alongside Rice and play Foden through the middle. Play someone with pace to get in behind on the left had side.

I understand the need for change but don't think I'd be dropping Bellingham deeper. There's a way to keep Foden and Bellingham influential and they both excel further up the pitch. Sacrifice a defensive midfielder alongside Rice and let the attacking players do their thing.

Kane kept coming back deep to get the ball. It occupies the space of the talented midfielders which brings opposition in and crowds their space. It's infuriating even more so because everyone knows how good Kane is good in the box but the amount of times he came deep today and then amble around the box instead of getting in scoring positions was angering.

Bellingham is at his best making late runs into the box unchecked and being involved in the play in and around the box. I don't think sticking him deeper alongside Rice is the answer.

Southgate just needs to pull his finger out and stop being so stubborn. No one will blame him if he changes it up and the game against Slovenia is another chance for that. He has to relax the shackles a bit (or a lot) and stop being so cautious. I can't wait til he's gone because the younger players who have 3 or 4 more tournaments in them are wasted with Southgate there, and they deserve a real chance to win an international trophy.

Well it came out of Walkers mouth, it isn't Southgate's instructions to defend after they take a lead, Walker says Gareth asks them to play attacking football. If Walker is putting that performance down to "managing the game", then a lot of responsibility needs to be aimed at the players.

Do you think he's going to dig out his boss in the middle of a tournament?

Foden's been so poor in both games - he's a very talented player, but he's just not going to work out in this style of football really.

He's doing okay today. Not the worst player in the side today.

The fuckers are not giving the required effort. Look at a lot of the teams that have played already and the pressing and fight they've shown. We have the talent, but we are just sitting back most of the time. We should have looked to get the 2nd goal after scoring, instead of sitting back and protecting the lead.

Southgate's instructions as opposed to the players. It happens every game for it to be a lack of fight.

Foden is just not doing it for England. Maybe it's time to replace him with Palmer or Gordon.

Hmm, he's not been the best but not the worst. Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold have been quiet.

Kane needs to stop dropping so deep. Even if he gets the ball he's got no outlet because it should be him up there.

Credit to Denmark though. They've been good.
