  1. He's nearly 30 now(a player for the future and not just the present is needed, it would be a desperate buy), all the club would be doing is helping PSG balance their books so that they can buy players like Mbappe, he plays well once in every 10 games, his decision making gets worse with age and he's a clown. Di Maria would have been a great signing directly from Benfica back then but not anymore.
  2. Douglas just looks out of place doesn't he?
  3. Why would you pull out of deals for Seri, Dembele and Martinez, when all 3 are just what the club potentially need? Yet they go through with the signing of Paulinho. Coutinho would be a top signing, but you'd take those 3 over just him alone as him alone is not the answer to all the problems at all. With those 3 signings, along with Semedo and Deloufeu, that would have been an excellent window, but in the end, nobody else will be signed and it's due to the board's incompetencies. I'm now adamant that Neymar didn't leave for money and he certainly didn't leave due to being in "other players shadows", given how close he is to the squad and how much of a connection he grew towards the city. He left as he can see the poor direction the club is going in, so made a move to one who are going in a much better one.
  4. I couldn't think of a worse signing. In fact if you asked me to name 2 signings which I believe would be the worst possible ones the club could make at the start of the summer, I'd have said Di Maria and Paulinho.
  5. Then they still put bids in for your strikers as well Valdes Alves -- Pique -- Puyol -- Abidal Iniesta -- Busquets -- Xavi Messi - whichever 2 partnered him that season You've got to miss that team, even if you dislike Barcelona. It was just perfect!
  6. Ricardinho knows about pretty much every league. @El_Loco, do you think Yerry Mina would succeed at Barcelona mate? He is another player who interests the club alot. I've been impressed by him when I've seen him, although I haven't watched him as much as you will have given that he plays for your team out in Brazil, Palmeiras.
  7. Neymar always used to want to leave my Barcelona team funnily enough and forced a move on one career mode. He was "home sick", so went to Bayern Munich It is actually amazing how much crap both Barcelona and Real buy on career mode on fifa. United always seem to buy loads of strikers on mine as well.
  8. There are strong reports linking Barcelona to that cretin Di Maria now as a Neymar replacement. Di Maria is not the answer and it makes the club look like a joke by signing such an utter clown like that. Selling PSG one of the world's best, and then buying one of their cast offs, doing them a favour so that they can balance their books and buy a top young talent such as Mpabbe makes the club look like a laughing stock Why would they sign him? What next? Ozil and Pepe? Make the club look an even bigger joke and buy even more Real Madrid cast offs. Signing Di Maria would have made sense years ago when he was playing for Benfica, but not anyone. It's just pure desperation.
  9. He shouldn't have been signed, but Seri instead, although it looks like he will be signed as well. Paulinho will pretty much never play, just like Varmalaen, Song and other junk signings like it.
  10. Yeah he can defend but also looks brilliant going forward. When Messi is back on the right(which he will be when Suarez is back), I think those 2 will form something deadly myself.
  11. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but from what I've seen of Semedo, he's got everything required to be one of the best right backs in the world. Barcelona have lacked a young right back like him for about 4 years, given how poor Alves often was towards the end of his stint and him not being replaced since his departure. As I said though, I don't want to get carried away, as he needs to continue those performance first, although I don't see why he won't. He can only get better in my opinion. He was the best player on the pitch yesterday but special mentions also to Sergi Roberto and Umtiti, who pushed him for man of the match. Speaking of Sergi Roberto, he could really be the answer to one of the problems in midfield. It appears as though he's finally getting a chance in his more natural role and I believe he will thrive in it. It was a better performance than I thought it would have been to be honest and should have been a few more than 2-0. But there is certainly a lot of improvements to be made still, and a few additions are still needed.
  12. According to Marca, Coutinho is far away but Dembele is "closer". There has also been recent links popping up about Seri again, who apparently has a 40 million euro clause. I think both players would be moves in the right direction and definitely improve the starting 11. I certainly wouldn't hold my breath when it came to the Seri deal though as it looked like the Martinez deal was as good as done the other week but all that never panned out. The problem with Dembele is that he has a clause of 150 million euros, which is the amount Dortmund want. Is he worth that when you consider that he's only potential and still has a lot of work to be done on him? The market is ridiculous at the moment.
  13. He was brilliant for Sevilla as well. It looks like he's going to Valencia. He has wanted to go there all summer(according to Marca) and it looks like it's happening, as his agent is in Valencia now. Valencia have made some good signings in this in window to be honest and have promoted young players from their youth. Carlos Soler is a very interesting player to look out for and the 20 year old looks like he could potentially have a big future. They seem to be buying young players and players who will actually improve them as a team, while also promoting from within and with Marcelino now as manager, we may see a rejuvenated Valencia this season, after an awful campaign last year.
  14. It looks like they are also signing Kondogbia and Murillo from Inter Milan.
  15. To be honest, Yerry Mina is actually a very talented lad(Ricardinho would be able to tell you more though as he's a Palmeiras fan) and could potentially be a shrewd piece of business at 8 million. He's already broke into the Colombian national team and his talents have been known for quite some time now. From what I've seen of him, he potentially has the talent to make the grade in Europe. If given the choice though, then you'd always go for Martinez, given that he's about to reach his prime, has been class for years for Real Soiedad and is proven in Spain. Barcelona need to focus more on bringing in talented Spaniards before anything as far as I'm concerned. Too many quality Spanish players have been passed up on(or sold in the case of Thiago) in recent years. I mean there was a chance to sign both Isco and Asensio and look how that would have turned out now. Instead they opt for players like Douglas and Andre Gomes. I agree with there being something fishy going on with these signings from Brazil, but Yerry Mina could be an interesting one and may actually work.
  16. I don't know why they didn't buy Vietto back to be honest. He was excellent for them in that season he had there.
  17. Good signing for Villarreal. He might be about 30 now but he didn't get into football until a later age to most players, so I don't think that should be a worry. He's got all the right attributes to do an Aduriz or a Ruben Castro in my opinion.
  18. They didn't decide to sell Neymar, he had a clause in his contract which was bought out. The club were powerless to prevent that sale from happening. What they should have done though, is put a far higher clause in his contract so that nobody could realistically buy out. The clause rule in Spain is utterly pathetic as fuck, although since it exists, it's down to the club to place ridiculous clauses in the player's contracts in order to prevent them from ever leaving without the club being able to dictate the fee.
  19. Rosell is currently in jail so the chances of him gaining presidency anytime soon are impossible fortunately mate
  20. Balon won't agree, but I'd have Laporta back myself. He's corrupt, but whoever comes in will be a shady cunt either way, that's a given.
  21. There are some horrible signings these days. There were even poor ones around the time Pep was first appointed as manager in crap like Chiginski, Hleb, Caceres, etc, although lately, there are far more crap signings than positive ones. I'm not sure how Paulinho improves the starting 11, which is what is needed. The starting 11 needs a few new faces, the team needs freshening up. What it doesn't need is a bunch of overpaid, ageing Spurs flops on high wages clogging up the squad. I wouldn't write Deulofeu off simply because of last night, as being thrown into the team in a Clasico on your official debut is not easy, although I've never seen him as being the sort who would be first choice either way. Paco Alacer and himself are squad players, well needed ones, but for me they aren't players who are good enough to be starting every game. A top young talent like Dembele is needed without a doubt.
  22. How is that different to Gerrard or Carragher speaking about what Liverpool need on sky sports/BT or Scholes and Keane talking about what United need? They are retired players, who are now pundits/speak a lot about football in the media.
  23. All the signings this summer have been terrible and not one single problem whatsoever has been anywhere near close to being addressed. This is even without Neymar leaving, which makes for even more work now. 3 signings are massively needed:- a Neymar replacement, a midfielder since Iniesta can't play much anymore and a top centre back.
  24. Mathieu and Varmaelen were terrible signings, but why Paco Alcacer? Once he settled in, Paco did well last season as a rotation player towards the end of the season, which is what he was bought for.
  25. The more I think of it, the more I believe that Denis, Busquets and Sergi Roberto could form a strong midfield. I always remember the club chasing Cesc when Thiago was still there. In the end, Thiago left, Cesc weren't the right fit and when you look back now, Thiago leaving has been more devastating than any player who has left the club by miles in recent years, it was a bigger fuck up than losing Neymar. The same could happen with Denis and Roberto(albiet both being a little older now than Thiago was then), as both are brilliant, very different from each other and alongside Busquets would offer a great balance. They deserve a chance playing in their more natural positions. Iniesta can still offer plenty in the right games, but can't play 90 minutes 3 times a week anymore. Rakitic, if he continues playing to his best level, does cause a dilemma though as he's brilliant when he's on song, but it does show that there is actually depth there in this area of the field, it's just about finding the correct balance and utilising the players to their strengths. Anyway, continuing with Denis and Sergi Roberto. Denis is still young and just needs a run of games then he will develop and grow further and Sergi Roberto is more than experienced enough now, he's at the perfect age of 25 and I believe that he will thrive if playing in his more natural role. Both are young and Spanish, in Sergi Roberto's case from La Masia, and they fit the bill perfectly. It's Gomes who I don;t believe fits the bill, albeit improving a lot towards the end of the season and Denis and Roberto(playing in midfield) have looked far more assuring than him, despite not getting anywhere near as fair a crack of the whip as he has. I'd also like to see Samper stay, as even though he won't get as many minutes as the others, could learn a lot and fill in for Busquets whenever he needs a rest. He will have learnt a lot from his loan spell last season and deserves to be part of the squad. If he doesn't get any pitch time by January or so, then loan him out. But he could be a useful player and certainly has the potential there.
