  1. RCB Women have won the WPL and getting a title before the men. Ellyse Perry is some player.

P.S. Some partying going on in the city tonight haha. Fireworks as well, I guess 16yrs of not winning it with the mens team has had people stock up on them.

Had the chance to kill the game with that 5 on 2 counter. Should have done much better.

They hesitated and the pass just came too late but oh well it was going to end this way considering they gave the ball away way too much today.

  3. We lost this game way before those goals went in during ET with the subs and the way the players just lazily moved the ball around and didn't run to cover. Rashford missed a chance, McTominay missed a chance and all we had to show for that entire ET was a goal from Harvey and nothing else remotely threatening.

I'm sorry but are we seriously doing this again? I can't for the life of me understand how people see how many decisions, many of them obviously wrong, go for and against every team in the league every weekend and think that referees are in the pay of one team or another.

Referees can't control the outcomes of matches lads. Why would somebody waste their time and money and risk paying off a set of officials to favour them in marginal calls when, if Luis Diaz puts one or two of his chances away for example, Liverpool win the match anyway?

They definitely have their unconscious biases. Like I said originally, I'm sure the VAR and referee were reluctant to give Liverpool two penalties in one potentially title-deciding match, no matter how clear and obvious, because they know that that's all that people will talk about afterwards.

The officiating in the league is consistently terrible and the way accountability works between the on-pitch referee and the VAR doesn't lend itself to correct outcomes being achieved. It's also not right that teams of officials are flying across to the Middle East or wherever to officiate a midweek game to make extra money when they've got a league depending on them to do their main job properly at the weekend. They're not getting paid off to favour one team or the other, though, I'm afraid. They're just not.

When you consider your last point about them flying to other countries to referee matches and the fact that they are being paid by those associations for their work coupled with the fact that they have zero accountability other than "sorry" it's not really a far stretch to assume that some if not many matches are subject to being paid off for outcomes. Our match certainly gets most of the highlights considering the fact that there is a country who has a history of infractions in football and will do anything to generate revenue by any means possible. Am I saying it is an absolute fact? No, and my post may come off that way and if it does it's not my intention but to think that there isn't a financial operating factor in referee decision making now that you really have zero visibility into what the man in the box is doing or how those decisions are being made you certainly can't rule out that they have bias - external influenced or just plain incompetence, I lean towards influence because no one can be that stupid/incompetent. Wherever there is large scores of money you can 100% assume there is a level of cheating going on that isn't blatantly obvious and will never present itself unless you see a pattern whether its teams cheating, or the managing system being corrupted.

To fix this the league and the FA have to really just find a way to introduce penalties post review to ANY game that is deemed to have the ambiguity associated with decisions. But we both know that is never going to happen because the last thing they'll do is call one of their own incompetent and it opens a can of worms no one wants to deal with so you get refs getting away with whatever decision they make because no one can challenge them. If I was a corrupt business wanting to gain leverage that looks rather ripe an opportunity.

P.S. Apologies for the late reply but the last two days have been busy.

I find myself more and more disappointed about not having PC releases having taken the plunge on an ultra wide now. I dont want to play it on PS5 but I dont know If i can wait for this one xD

Speaking of which I saw Ghosts of Tsushima has a PC release coming finally :)

I think most of KT's releases eventually find their way onto PC. I don't know if all the NiOhs made their way there but if this is anything like that (which I think it is) then its going to be lots of fun. Trying not to do too much reading on it and just get into the game.

What's everyone think about the VAR call? Can't lie I'm at a loss as to how studs down someone's chest/belly isn't a foul. Probably a yellow card anywhere else on the pitch

Mac could have shown the marks made by the studs and they'd still say no foul. They panicked when they realized their bank accounts would start seeing a lack of incoming funds if they had made the right call. There's no other reason why they shouldn't be calling that a foul and awarding a subsequent penalty. We had Curtis get a red for something else which was incidental post contact with the ball first so they can't even use the excuse that Doku gets to the ball first.

Agreed. I dont remember Neuer having to make a save. There was the one header Immobile had that was a pretty decent half chance he put wide off a De Ligt header I think? Even still these are the kind of matches we havent looked interested in for a few weeks now so Ill take it.

As much as I've loved the revelation of Pavlovic its a different task to have him go up against City or Madrid let alone some of the other teams.

I wouldn't worry too much about Madrid even though they are strong. With the attacking players you'll have there is a high chance you can upset them.

Yeah that looked like a worldie from De Ligt on first play... which hes done a few of. Just typical Müller though in the end :)

Solid performance overall anyways not much to complain about but lets see if we can get some momentum from this.

You'll have returning players and its certainly going to help. However, you have to also take into account that once Lazio got undone, they really didn't change or try anything tactically different except just being direct and when that failed, they kept on repeating the same thing over and over again. It's a bit weird because you'd imagine being 2 goals down, you'd kick into gear and at least push harder but they just couldn't. I don't remember you'll being bothered too much in the game either.

It really could have been a much higher score but once the third goal went in Bayern didn't care too much and tried to play it all around Lazio instead of at the goal.

Allowed back into the game? the whole game was played in United's box :4_joy: we was poor but United, Jesus! 2 shots the whole game lol, that was a proper shit house performance from them, the worse they have ever played at the Etihad, it's time for a new manager

They went into defensive mode the whole time and basically allowed the ball to be played around them. Then the manager had the bright idea to take off the one player who was actually running past the halfway line. Had they developed some stones for a change and played attacking football I think they'd have gotten another goal. It's weird how teams think they are going to win against you'll by sitting back and absorbing pressure.

I also think they were fishing for a draw once the first Foden goal went in because you saw zero drive from anyone to get the ball out properly. They'd either clear it or just play it into a space to be overturned. I can't believe I am saying this haha but they really lost the plot after the first goal went in and they could have pushed harder the way City were trying to overload the midfield and the wings.
