I was just wondering about this while watching a Euro match a few days back. It would be foolish to assume that the on-field medical staff of a team or country would not do their best to waste time to give their team an undue advantage. Now in a match a few days back the injured player was literally on the line during added on time. The Ref kept requesting the medical staff to move him slightly so that play could continue. They simply refused to listen and play was stopped for almost 2 mins while the staff tended to their player on the line behind the GK. Afterwards the referee furnished a card but I think it was for the player.
Can medical staff be given the red card and sent off?
