But Rebels... I visited the Clone Wars series and despite some crappy filler (particularly early in the series) what a truly fantastic 4-episode finale. SW at its finest. With the bonus of vastly enriching (together with the more general kaminoan conspiracy plot) the Revenge of the Sith movie.

  3. In terms of providing additional 'hope', there is also suggestion/speculation that having passed common colds caused by certain coronaviruses different from SARS-CoV-2 may offer partial immunity to some extent as it has been reported the existence of SARS-CoV-2-reactive CD4+ T cells among individuals not exposed to COVID-19. https://www.cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092-8674(20)30610-3
  4. La Barceloneta, Barcelona (reportedly 18 May 2020). I am not sure about the date but they are giving some validity here, here, and here. If confirmed, the sheer density of cities, plus lack of open areas plus the idiocy of people make for a bizarre mix during a pandemic.
  5. Is Boris going to compromise with ERG in terms of conditions of lockdown in a trade-off with the stance with negotiations with EU or he does not need that given favourable parliamentary arithmetic?

  9. In general, the family of Coronaviruses mutate/evolve slower than influenza. That said SARS-CoV-2 is new, we don't fully know it and we can only assume it is going to behave following that pattern. It seems to be somewhat better at propagating than common influenza (2x?), which is no slouch in that regard. There is no immunity. Vaccines and antivirals do not work with SARS-CoV-2 (if laboratories had kept onto researching on the 2003 SARS virus and produced a vaccine the latter MAY have worked to some extent, but as it was the epidemic was contained investigation stopped, sad). So we've got to wait for a vaccine for quite a bit of time. The death rate is reportedly between 4 and 50 times higher, but we need to take this with a grain of salt as the amount of unreported cases (many of them asymptomatic) may be huge (thus considerably lowering the death rate, possibly one order of magnitude). Hopefully after one, two or three infections, immunity can be acquired passively, and although becoming endemic, the virus may turn to only affect children in a very mild way until they acquire immunity to the virus (and hopefully to similar viruses from the same family).

  11. The fact that voting systems in the United States vary significantly from one state to another is kinda dismaying but, TBF, I think the biggest issue there (aside from the whole electoral college concept) is voter suppression.
  12. Up to this point the current dengue outbreak looks more worrying in Peru than the coronavirus one.
  13. Bloomberg seems to fantasise about running a "based" (pun intended) platform. De Blasio endorsing Bernie is interesting. Vis-à-vis the primary ballots in New York, you'd prefer to have some support from the big democratic party figures. De Blasio endorsed Hillary in 2016, IIRC. As dull as she comes up, Klobuchar commands great appeal among grannies and grandpas. Warren looks good policy-wise, but she has shown behavioural red flags shedding concerns about her moral compass.
