  1. A point tonight and we are officially safe. We're all but safe anyway but it'll be nice to get it across the line.
  2. Championship Ipswich, Leicester, Leeds and Southampton are guaranteed at least a play-off place and are still all in contention for the automatic promotion places. Rotherham have been relegated to League One with two more teams set to join them before the end of the season. League One Portsmouth, Derby and Bolton will finish at least in a play-off place. Portsmouth will be promoted tomorrow if they avoid defeat, or if Bolton drop points. Carlisle were the first team to be relegated to League Two, with 3 more teams set to join them. Fleetwood could be the 2nd team to drop down if results do not go their way tomorrow. League Two Stockport secured promotion along with Wrexham on Saturday with Mansfield or MK Dons fighting for the third automatic place. One of those, and three others will contest the play offs. Two teams will be relegated out of the EFL with Forest Green relegated if Colchester beat Grimsby tomorrow evening. National League Chesterfield will be playing League Two football again for the first time in 6 years next season, after securing the National League title. Barnet, Bromley, Altrincham and Solihull Moors are all guaranteed a play off place with 2 more to join them.
  3. League Two Stockport only need one more point to secure promotion. And 6 points at most to claim the title. Wrexham and Mansfield are now both guaranteed at least a play off place after last night's games.
  4. It's getting to that stage of the season now where we get to see what is needed for clubs to be promoted or relegated. Here's the current permutations. Championship Ipswich, Leeds and Leicester are guaranteed at least a play-off place. Rotherham have been relegated to League One with two more teams set to join them before the end of the season. League One Portsmouth, Derby and Bolton will finish at least in a play-off place. Carlisle were the first team to be relegated to League Two, with 3 more teams set to join them. League Two Only Stockport, who sit 1st in table, are guaranteed a play-off place currently. Two teams will be relegated out of the EFL, but at present, it could be any of a number of teams in the bottom half of the table. National League Chesterfield will be playing League Two football again for the first time in 6 years next season, after securing the National League title. Barnet are the only team that are guaranteed a play-off place with 5 more set to join them in the play-offs for the last remaining promotion slot.
  5. I respect him staying. It would be easy to go to a 'bigger' club and try his hand there but he has unfinished business with this team and to see how much further he can take them. There's also that element of proving that this season isn't just a fluke.
  6. Saturday 30th March, 2024 Torino 1-0 Monza, 14.00 Aberdeen 2-0 Ross County Metz 0-1 Monaco, 16.00 Hertha Berlin 1-1 Nurnberg, 19.30 Sunday 31st March, 2023 Austin FC 1-1 FC Dallas, 00.30 Melbourne Victory 1-0 Perth Glory, 05.00 Arsenal Women 2-1 Chelsea Women Girona 1-0 Real Betis, 15.15 Sturm Graz 1-1 Salzburg, 16.00 Marseille 0-2 PSG, 19.45
  7. I'll take 1-1 against Gillingham. We do need to start converting draws into wins though.
  8. I was unlucky this week but that's how it goes!
  9. I guess it's no different to the fixtures for the Premier League and other leagues being drawn by computer, but I agree, this does seem a little suss.
  10. We look a better team lately and could quite easily grab at least a point here. We need to be more clinical with our chances after Saturday's result where we dropped 2 points but if we can do that 3 points is definitely possible.
  11. Are we running out of topic ideas?
  12. This is likely now to be an end-of-season roundup rather than something I rush to get updated - and then we'll do a Euro 2024 edition which I'll actually keep updated!!
  13. If you want an example of the worst officiating decision I've seen in a long time, this is the one I saw in the flesh on Saturday for Sutton v Grimsby. Ref is looking directly at Sutton's player wrestling our players to the ground... lino flags for handball?! Penalty given to Sutton. Referee was full of himself all game, the lino was constantly overuled (rightly so in a few instances), they then refused to shake hands at half time. A shambles. Alex Chilowicz was the referee, and a name I'll remember next time he officiates one of our games. Judging by fans on X, he wasn't popular when he was an MLS ref either.
