Administrator Stan Posted May 18, 2017 Administrator Share Posted May 18, 2017 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39959232 Quote A Swedish top-flight fixture between Gothenburg and AIK has been postponed after an alleged match-fixing attempt. The two sides were set to meet in the Allsvenskan at 18:00 BST on Thursday. But the Swedish Football Federation announced it would postpone the fixture citing a "very serious attack against Swedish football". "We will never, never accept this," Hakan Sjostrand, secretary general of the federation, told AFP in a statement.
Smiley Culture
Strange that it would happen at the highest level. I've always been under the impression that the easier people to influence in the UK would be your semi-pro's/amateurs, who aren't on much/any money and would imagine this is the same across Europe. tarzanontoast
"The Swedish Football Association claims an AIK player was "offered a considerable sum" on Tuesday if he contributed to losing the match." Someone must have been inspired by that North Korean goalkeeper in that U-16 international match v Malaysia where he managed to mis-judge heading a long punt up pitch, slowed down his sprint en-route back to his own goal and then fell over… TWICE as he watched the ball trickle over the line. This match-fixing lark… it ain’t easy, y’know!
