Nazariy Rusyn - Sunderland Make Bid

Sunderland are reported to have bid to buy Ukrainian forward Nazariy Rusyn. Rusyn, who was the 2nd top scorer in the Ukrainian League last season, behind Artem Dovbyk, currently plays for the Ukrainian club Zorya Luhansk. Prior to joining Zorya Luhansk permanently, Rusyn played the majority of his young career for Dynamo Kyiv, while at Dynamo, he had several loan spells out to other clubs, most notably Polish heavyweights Legia Warsaw. Rusyn also had a prolific record for the Ukrainian Under 21 national team, when he played for them several years ago, where he scored an impressive 7 goals in 11 matches for them.

Rusyn has never played for the Ukrainian national team, given the plethora of talented forwards that Ukraine has coming through. However, Rusyn was called up to the Ukrainian national team squad for the first time in his career this June. Despite this, he has still not been selected to play for them and make his international debut.

A move to Sunderland to play in the Championship, could be the next best move for Rusyn at this stage of his career. On the back of Rusyn's best ever season so far in his career, a move for the 24 year old to Sunderland, could be very beneficial to his development. Rusyn is known for his pace, acceleration speed and his finishing abilities. He also has an impressive work rate. If Sunderland do end up buying Rusyn, they could have bagged themselves a real bargain.

it seems like a good deal for a championship club

Well yeah, he's a very skilled forward, who won't cost Sunderland much at all. He was the leading scorer in the Ukrainian league last season behind Dovbyk. Dovbyk incidentally joined his fellow Ukrainian Tsyhankov at Girona this season and they are both inspiring Girona's results in the La Liga this season, with Girona currently sitting in 3rd place in Spain's top division. Rusyn may not quite be as good as the Ukrainian pair in Spain, but he is nonetheless an excellent young player with very good potential.

A move to the Championship club, is probably a good move at this stage of his career for the Ukrainian forward. It's a great league to showcase your skills, with Premier League club scouts taking a good look at the best players in the Championship. Rusyn will also only apparently cost Sunderland 3 million euros, however, there is a 20% sell on clause, meaning that if and when Rusyn does leave Sunderland, Zorya Luhansk will receive 20% of that transfer fee.

In any case, the deal is all but done and Rusyn should be playing for Sunderland very soon. He is a great signing for Sunderland in my opinion.

It's official, Sunderland have bought Nazariy Rusyn and he has signed a 4 year contract at the North East club. The transfer fee is said to be undisclosed, but several reports claim that Sunderland have paid Zorya Luhansk around 3 million euros for Rusyn. Rusyn is a dynamic forward, who is bound to strengthen Sunderland. I think that he is a great signing for the club.
