Michael
Wolfsburg look set to buy Atalanta's Danish international left-back Joakim Maehle. The Bundesliga side are seemingly not wasting time in bolstering their defence, after agreeing the sale of Micky van de Ven to Tottenham for £43 million. Bournemouth were also seriously after buying the Danish international Maehle, but it now seems likely that Wolfsburg will beat Bournemouth to Maehle's signature. Maehle, who was also wanted by Juventus in the January transfer window, has scored 9 international goals for the Denmark national team, since making his debut for them in 2020. That is quite an impressive feat for a fullback. Maehle, who is Denmark's undisputed first choice left-back, was a key figure in Denmark's Euro 2020 campaign to the semi-finals and their 2022 World Cup campaign. In fact, Maehle scored 2 goals for Denmark at Euro 2020, one goal against Russia and another goal against Wales. Maehle looks like a very wise signing for Wolfsburg, if this deal goes through. He has a huge amount of experience, and yet he has only just turned 26 a couple of months ago. He looks a very good addition to the Wolfsburg squad in my opinion. Michael
Official: Maehle joins Wolfsburg from Atalanta - Football Italia (football-italia.net) It's official, Wolfsburg have bought Joakim Maehle from Atalanta. Another very astute signing by Wolfsburg in my opinion. They've been excellent in the transfer market both this year and last year in my opinion. The club looks like it's run very well.
