Michael
Reports are coming in that Frankfurt's Colombian forward Rafael Borre is close to joining fellow Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. Werder are looking to replace Fullkrug, who recently left them to join Dortmund. Rafael Borre seems to be an ideal replacement. Rafael Borre has been the first choice forward for the Colombian national team for years now and he has played a key role at Frankfurt in recent years. Rafael Borre scored the winning goal against West Ham in the semi-finals of the 2022 Europa League, that sent Frankfurt to the final. In the final itself, Borre scored the equalising goal, which would eventually help Frankfurt to win the Europa League final and raise the trophy. Borre is still only 27 years old, but he has bags of experience, both for the Colombian national team and at club level. He seems like just the experienced forward to replace Fullkrug at Werder Bremen. Matching Fullkrug's amazing performances at Werder will not be easy for anyone, but as replacements go, Borre seems like a very decent replacement for the German international. Subscriber nudge+ Posted September 1, 2023 Subscriber Share Posted September 1, 2023 Lol. What I'm hearing is that Werder doesn't really want him, and he doesn't really want to join us either, but both sides are running out of options. Basically, it seems that we had 4 preferred strikers as a replacement for Füllkrug, and got rejected by all of them/their clubs. So now the time is ticking and it seems that we're desperate to sign just about anyone. Deal with Amiri reportedly failed too, as well as with other alternatives in midfield. Fucking hell, what a mess.
