Michael
FC St. Pauli have bought young Wales international right-back Fin Stevens from Brentford FC. Fin Stevens, who made his debut for Premier League side Brentford as a 17 year old in 2020, has subsequently had loan spells at Swansea City and Oxford United. Stevens, who turned 21 this April, is a product of the Arsenal Youth Academy. Stevens is also a former captain of the Wales Under-21 national team, where he earned an impressive 17 international caps for them and scored 1 international goal. Stevens at age 21, is still eligible to play for the Wales Under-21 national team, but such were his impressive performances for them, he is now a full international for the senior Wales national team. He has 2 international appearances for the senior Wales national team to date. By signing for St. Pauli, Fin Stevens becomes the second British player currently on the books of the Hamburg-based club, joining Scottish international Scott Banks. Both young Brits have secured permanent deals with St. Pauli this summer, and their arrivals are seen as promising acquisitions. Playing in the Bundesliga, Germany's top-tier league, will be a new and exciting experience for both players. Interestingly, Fin Stevens is not the first Welsh international player to don the St. Pauli jersey in recent seasons. Wales international centre-back James Lawrence played for St. Pauli for 3 seasons, from 2019 until the summer of 2022. This trend suggests that St. Pauli have somewhat developed a preference for buying British players in recent seasons. Rucksackfranzose
With all understanding for your enthusiasm St Pauli had over 40 squad members from 2019 to 2024, checked it 3 of them were Britons. Calling that a preference for buying them is very far-fetched.

In all seriousness, you rarely find two or more good British players playing for the same continental European club. St. Pauli have had 3 Brits playing for them in the space of 3 years and 2 are both currently in their squad. They are all very decent players and not Brits who have no chance of playing for their respective national teams. James Lawrence was a Welsh national team player when he played for St. Pauli and he has 11 international appearances for Wales to date. While young Fin Stevens already has 2 international caps for Wales and is a highly rated young player. Similarly Scott Banks has been a regular for the Scotland Under-21 national team and is expected to play for the Scotland senior team in the future.
