Dave Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Germany winger Julian Brandt has signed a two-year contract extension with Bayer Leverkusen to 2021. The 21-year-old, who is battling for a spot in Germany's World Cup squad, opted to stay despite interest from some of Europe's top teams. He has scored six times in the league and provided four assists this season, grabbing a total of 24 goals in 126 Bundesliga matches since joining Leverkusen midway through the 2013-14 campaign.
Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted April 4, 2018 Subscriber Posted April 4, 2018 Good decision for him and Leverkusen. There where rumours of a €12m buyout clause that kicked in in the summer so there was some urgency if true.
nudge Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Clever decision, he's very young and still somewhat inconsistent, more regular playing time will do him good before he joins Bayern or any other "bigger" club in the future. One of my favourite young players in the league; still can't believe we didn't manage to snap him up for our academy, considering he was born and grew up in Bremen and is a Werder fan since his childhood
