Smiley Culture Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 It’s coming to the business end of the group stages and around the time when the elation of promotion, the pain of relegation and the prospect of silverware becomes more apparent for some. Pot A Group A2 Iceland can be relegated to Pot B if they lose to Switzerland tonight. Group A4 Spain can progress to the Semi-Finals should they beat England this evening. Pot B Group B1 Ukraine can seal promotion tomorrow night should they beat Czech Republic. Group B3 Should Bosnia beat Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland will be all but relegated. Group B4 If the Republic of Ireland lose to Wales tomorrow, they will be all but relegated, owing to a rather large negative goal difference. Pot C Group C4 Lithuania are all but relegated to Pot D. They need to win both their remaining games, to win those two games by at least eight goals overall and hope Romania lose both their remaining games. Pot D Group D4 Macedonia can seal promotion to the Pot C should they win away at Armenia tomorrow.
SirBalon Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Spain practically have 1st place sewn up even with a draw although not mathematically. If Spain were to draw with England tonight... For Croatia to finish first would mean Croatia winning their two remaining games and also beating Spain by more than 6 goals at home.
Smiley Culture Posted October 15, 2018 Author Posted October 15, 2018 Iceland have been relegated from Pot A, Group 2 after losing all three of their games in the Nations League.
