  1. Retaining Branthwaite would significantly bolster Everton, given the interest from several top clubs. Unfortunately, Onana's departure appears inevitable due to his exceptional talent, which will likely attract offers from elite clubs this summer. Everton faces challenges in retaining him amidst the intense competition. Ndiaye represents a valuable acquisition for Everton. At £17 million, his transfer fee appears favourable, especially considering that Marseille paid around £20 million to secure him from Sheffield United last summer. As a young yet experienced Senegal international, Ndiaye's signing bodes well for Everton. Additionally, the positive news is that Mykolenko has recovered from his injuries, and assuming he remains injury-free during the Euros, he should be fit and prepared to start next season for Everton. As for Ashley Young, it looks like he will still be playing with Everton when he is 40. Hopefully Calvert-Lewin stays at the club, for Everton's sake.
  2. The Czech national team faces a significant setback ahead of their crucial match against Turkey, with star forward Patrick Schick doubtful to start due to an injury. In their previous match against Georgia, the Czechs dominated play but were unfortunate to only secure a 1-1 draw. Georgian goalkeeper Mamardashvili was voted man of the match, and the Czechs created numerous scoring opportunities. To advance to the Round of 16, they must secure a victory against Turkey. Despite Schick's potential absence, the Czech team possesses the capability to defeat Turkey, but they cannot afford to squander their scoring chances. Conversely, Turkey enters the game with less pressure, having already secured a win against Georgia. A draw would suffice for Turkey, allowing them to adopt a more cautious approach without committing to early attacks. The Czechs must perform at their best to secure the necessary victory. Personally, I hope they succeed, as their young team boasts several talented players whom I'd like to see more of during these Euros. I'd also like to see more of Hlozek and Cerny in the attacking areas, as I think they can cause the Turkish defence some serious problems.
  3. It's also worth noting, that Hungary also had to go all out to win against Scotland in this match. So there was no advantage for any side in this game. Scotland had more points than Hungary going into this game, so if anything, there was more pressure on Hungary than there was for Scotland. In the end, Hungary deservedly got the win they needed.
  4. In the upcoming match, it appears that Gallagher will replace TA Arnold, a change that seems obvious and necessary. England have faced criticism for adopting a defensive approach once they've secured a lead. Personally, I disagree with this tactic, especially when England are stronger than their opponents. However, it's worth noting that many top teams follow a similar strategy after taking the lead. Managers often prioritize minimising risks. Nevertheless, today's match against Slovenia offers England a chance to showcase their abilities. Having already qualified for the Round of 16, I hope to see an impressive performance from England, with them scoring several goals. Hopefully Bellingham and Kane are on their "A" game today.
  5. This is the game I want to watch, two very good sides who are closely matched, facing off. It should hopefully be a bit of a cracker in Berlin.
  6. England have already qualified. This is the match where I expect England to perform close to their best. There is no reason not to. Player for player England are the better team and we have already qualified. So there is no reason to be tentative or conservative in our play when we play Slovenia. There is not much pressure on England in this game, so hopefully the players will be able to express themselves more. England should just go for it and play the attacking football that we know these players are capable of playing. Slovenia are no mugs, they've proven that they are a very decent side. But England are the stronger team and when the better sides press and pressure the opposition, they usually win. We should just go for it and attack the Slovenians from kick-off, we have nothing really to lose in this match.
  7. I have to agree, those two had plenty more in them. Modric at 38 looked knackered and rightfully replaced. By scoring Croatia's goal, Modric became the oldest ever scorer at a European Championships. If Croatia don't make it to the next round, it will be kind of an end of an era for Croatia. I can't see Modric or even Perisic playing at the next World Cup(if Croatia qualify) in 2 years time.
  8. That was a lovely finish by Zaccagni to equalise for Italy! A well deserved equaliser for Italy. Croatia 1-1 Italy
  9. Croatia making several tactical fouls, they know how to go about seeing this game out.
  10. 8 minutes of injury time for Italy to find that equaliser.
  11. Spain are comfortably going to top this group on maximum points.
  12. It's going to be tough for Italy to find that equaliser against this very experienced Croatian side. But I agree with you, they should have pressed more before they conceded that goal from Croatia.
  13. Haven't you been on this site long enough to know where he is from? He is German.
  14. Broja has a long range shot at goal and he forces a very good save from Raya.
  15. Italy make an attacking substitution as the forward Chiesa comes on for Di Marco.
  16. Italy have to respond now. A loss is not going to guarantee a place in the next round.
  17. But moments later Modric scores to give Croatia the lead! Croatia 1-0 Italy
  18. Number 1, you don't know if they would have lost anyway against Hungary, even if they had beaten Switzerland, so that's a very bold assumption to make. As for Germany being far superior, yeah, sure they were, they drew 1-1 with Switzerland in their match on home soil in Germany. Yeah, they are arguably better, but to say they are far superior is hyperbole. What I am saying is that Scotland's result against the Swiss was a positive one, because of the strength of the Swiss and that Clarke would have probably targeted a draw as a positive result against the Swiss prior to the tournament. Belgium and Slovakia are much better sides than Scotland and the gulf in class between Belgium and Slovakia isn't a huge difference, just like Germany and Switzerland. If you want to talk about context, the result of Scotland drawing against Switzerland was also very positive at the time, given that Scotland were coming off of a 5-1 thrashing by Germany.
  19. Aslanni has a long range shot at goal excellently saved by Raya! That was the best chance of the half from Albania.
