I do think when he has great games that he tends to get well hyped up in the media and the like and it's probably expected that he will be turning it on every game he plays so when he gets games like this where he has little influence it shows how much we rely on his creativity and without him being on top of his game we seem a bit flat.. We need other players to step up so we don't rely on just one or two players to help swing games our way..

Thought we played well overall... Just our usual lack of concentration at the back which normally let's us down at some point and being unable to create more decent chances up front.. Still, not expecting us to win games like this at this moment in time..

Something very fragile about Palmer, great player though he is he is not one for the bravery or tough tackles.. It was really noticeable when he was playing for England against Greece.. Not something I had really noticed before

Palmer has had almost zero influence today so far..

Played well I thought especially the first 20-25 minutes... pretty much as I suspected though we lack enough creativity to break down and create decent chances against a good defensive unit.. We still delay and slow down our attacks while Liverpool are on the back foot giving them chance to get back.. Thought Liverpool should have had a penalty for the earlier foul on Salah, seemed a pretty straight forward foul to me so 1-0 on balance seems about right so far..

Don't expect anything but a loss from our game this weekend... Although we are doing ok we ship goals and when we play against a tight defensive unit we are struggling to get decent chances on target like when we played Forest.. 1 or 2 nil to Liverpool I reckon.. Would be happy with a draw and over the moon with a win but can't see it sadly.. We have a positive mentality but need to be more solid in defence as it will be the one area where we will let ourselves down, still it's early days and don't expect anything from games like this or City etc..

For me there would have been no complaints if it had been given and felt he was lucky to get away with a lunge in front of the player with no intent to play the ball.. If he had not done that Lewin would have had a clear shot at goal and not have gone down in the tangle.. Burn should have been trying to block the shot but he chose the man first and for me that's a foul.. It was about the intent

You have answered your own question... By putting his leg in front of him he has prevented him making contact with the ball and as a result he has brought the player down.. If he had made contact with the ball it would have been deemed a fair challenge but he made no attempt to get the ball just get in the way of the attacker, If he had just got kicked up the arse for his troubles but both players remained standing then no problem.. He was preventing a goal scoring opportunity in my opinion..

If the defender makes no contact with the ball but brings the attacker down that has to be a foul... Looked like a decent penalty shout to me

Yea they did because they had it down as a sending off for a reckless challenge and the Ref said it was for time wasting... They finally agreed it was going to be for time wasting... Didn't you hear them talking about it just after the second half restart??

He didn't and you are right about VAR but why do they continue to review such things?? They reviewed both the sending off and the off ball incident?
