  1. Joke's on them; we've only won one trophy in the last decade
  2. Guillem Balague is one of the worst journalists around. Why would he leave one of the biggest clubs in the world, a club on the up (allegedly) and where he's number one? Well, because he'd be going to a bigger club, who have been seriously challenging in the Champions League in recent years and will win La Liga this year, and he'll be number one there as well. As for the idea that he'll be on less money at Real Madrid? Get fucked.
  3. We do not. The cynical reason is that Liverpool fans were much more to blame for Heysel than for Hillsborough, and I'm sure there's an element of it, but that's not the main reason. As has been said before, Hillsborough wasn't just about the deaths, it was about the slandering of the survivors that became the slandering of an entire city that was already feeling attacked (or at least let down) by the government of the day and it was about the cover up of the authorities' failings that went right to the very top. That's why we commemorate it like no other club does any tragedy. We may see wounds start to heal now that the truth's out, but I personally wouldn't bank on it while those responsible still hold royal honours.
  4. Scuppers our chances of selling him at all, I'd say. I doubt he'll play at all next season. Worse than the loss of a transfer fee, though, is the loss of our ability to use him as a pawn to secure the signing of Virgil van Dijk.
  5. If there's a single goal that sums Messi up for me, it's this one:
  6. Transfer stories very rarely have a direct quote until it's a done deal though. If there is a quote in a story such as this, where it's being reported the team won't try to strengthen a particular position, it's often a lie anyway. In my experience, Sky Sports are usually pretty reliable themselves, although they do cite other media outlets indiscriminately. I'm not mad about this news, which is a surprise given what I thought of Mignolet as recently as a few months ago. He's been much, much better since coming back into the team this season and, while Karius is clearly Klopp's man long term, I think the #1 spot is Mignolet's to lose.
  7. As I said in the match thread for the weekend, we need to try something different now. We haven't won when Mane hasn't started and it's not good enough to hope that Origi can deputise, because he can't. Sturridge is just coming back now and I think he needs to make a genuine contribution if we're to hold on to our spot in the Champions League places.

And was one of the victims of the latest round of private photo leaks.
  9. Reuters reporting that we've told the EU we'll trigger Article 50 on March 29th
  10. Gini's got a decent work rate too, but with more pace, technical ability, and end product. I'm not opposed to keeping Milner as a utility player but I don't want him to be second choice in midfield. I'm not sold on Chamberlain. He'd be a decent option of the bench but, being English and coming from a rival clib, we'd have to overpay. As for Can, I'd sell. He's clearly talented, but he's so immobile and brainless that I don't think he'll ever be a top player, especially in our system.
  11. Love the idea of getting a proper left back, hate the idea of moving Milner back into the midfield. Thought he was pretty average there last season and he hasn't got any younger. I suppose he could fill in for Henderson at a pinch, but Hendo's so unreliable fitness-wise that it's well worth investing properly in that position.

It's alright guys you can chill out; I'm here now. What a show that was! Apparently they revived it last December with Gregg Wallace hosting, so I know what I'm doing with my evening.
