I was worried about Alisson, I thought he would have been out for longer. If those are the only games he misses, then we have gotten off lightly. Shame about Jota, but we have good cover for him. Just need Darwin to start putting away more of the chances he gets, he’s got a way to go to be as clinical as Diogo.

I usually buy quite a good few gifts for people, but this year I am cutting back considerably. It’s not at all the extreme. Are they capable of a good performance? Yes, but I’d say that for most the defenders in the PL. Gomez has been absolute shite for ages now, with a couple of non shit performances sprinkled in. Not good enough for us, yet he’s only 25/26 and has not longed signed a new contract so he’s not going anywhere.

Matip out of contract in the summer, see what happens there. If he goes then we maybe will finally bring in a top CB, because neither Virgil or Konate should be nailed on either. Virgil isn’t the player he was and has past 30 and Konate blows hot and cold.

We’ll have to just agree to disagree. I think both, especially Gomez, are way off the quality needed for any game we play. 
 

That goal being disallowed was weird. It happens well before the goal goes in. Doesn’t effect anything, so I’m puzzled at why it was given as handball. Talk about completely re-refereeing the game.
