  1. So Boris says we will “turn the tide within the next 12 weeks” which not only sounds ridiculously optimistic, but he was vague as fuck to what he actually meant by it.
  2. Yeah, I bet there are a ton of people out there who are working right now who shouldn’t be. Im lucky that my company have been supportive. I guess some workplaces would be the opposite, which then heaps pressure on people to not be off. That’s the only explanation I could give for some people, but it’s likely just pigheadedness.
  3. Well, me and the family are officially self isolating for the next 14 days, my mother has a cough and flu like symptoms. As is a colleague from work, who’s husband was sent home from his job for coughing. Advised by NHS to stay home, and work also told us not to go in, not that I would have. Ive just had 10 days holiday so I don’t feel ready for more time off work, but to hell if I’m putting anybody at risk. For the record, I do not believe my mother has contracted the virus, she has a cough but no complaints of difficulty breathing and we tested her temperature and it was completely normal. BUT, better to be safe than sorry.
  4. I’ve seen Spirited away before, howls moving castle and watched Princess Mononoke on numerous occasions (it’s a masterpiece) but the others are first time watches for me. Grave of the fireflies is the only one that isn’t coming to Netflix, but I’ll be sure to find it once I’ve been through the rest. It’s always been one high on the list from their filmography. And, thinking more about it, My Neighbour Totoro is getting a 9/10. I keep thinking about how much I enjoyed it. Porco Rosso had a fantastic setting, and I loved the animation on the planes, but it wasn’t as good as the rest. Still way above average though.
  5. And also, the death rate for this would surely be lower with the number of people who had mild symptoms and didn’t get diagnosed.
  6. Kiki’s Delivery Service - 8/10 Porco Rosso - 7/10 My Neighbour Totoro - 8.5/10 Princess Mononoke - 10/10 Spirited Away - 9/10
  7. Amazon Prime not having the genres of films all together like Netflix really hurts it. It’s also really annoying that nearly every good film on their is to buy or rent. Netflix has a great interface and menu setup but the film selections are sometimes lacking. They don’t update it enough with good films. I appreciate they like to create original content but I’m not interested in the vast majority of their original stuff.
  8. None. Pretending to be ahead of the curve, whilst remaining scarily non-committal. Spineless.
  9. See, now after hearing that new announcement I’ve got a bit of a dilemma with my mother. She has had a sore throat, cough and a cold the last few days. As I previously said, she is always dealing with these sort of issues because of her weaker immune system due to having diabetes. Now, she’s started to feel better the last day or so...so what do I do? I’m the Operations manager in my workplace, and I wouldn’t like to take a fortnight off if it ends up being fuck all. I’ve had no symptoms whatsoever, but it could be the incubation stage that I’m in. That’s possible too. I am stuck in a place where I would like to avoid being off unnecessarily, but this new advice has me question what the fuck I do?
  10. Over the weekend the local Facebook pages were just full of pictures of empty aisles at all the local supermarkets. Absolute bastards the lot of them, whoever is bulk buying shit should be the first to go. This morning I’ve had to go before work to try and find a few rolls of toilet paper and other essentials to do me and the family the next couple of weeks. People buying 40 rolls of toilet paper as if they are gonna shit themselves to death are just morons.
  11. Cheers @Inti Brian I think we will be okay, but the lack of movement from the government is concerning.
  12. I was just looking at some numbers and it looks like their new cases are plummeting and recoveries are also rising quickly. The world needs to just fucking do what they did to contain.
  13. I just watched Moneyball so it’s all I could think of saying haha
  14. I’m never watching football again. I’ll switch to baseball.
  15. I mean, yeah, I guess it would be funny to a non Liverpool supporter. Terry slipping over on the biggest stage in club football was equally funny though.
  16. Let’s keep in mind that footballers are all like us, they all grew up loving football themselves. They dreamt of winning trophies and cups just like the rest of us. They also live in a bubble. Apart from football, their whole world is controlled by others. They have agents and managerS doing all the boring contract work and advising them on suitable clubs they could join. To a player, City is an excellent destination to play football. Working under Pep, surrounded by world class players....why wouldn’t a player want to join that? It’s harsh to say these lads are actively supporting a human rights abuser, because to be honest I doubt they are aware of the full scope of that club’s business practices. They are paid to kick a ball and that’s what they do. So yeah, I will have some sympathy for the players. However, that doesn’t meant I don’t agree with this ban, I absolutely do.
  17. That’s really shit for us. Could have Really done with him for the second leg.
  18. Wow, that’s absolutely disgusting.
