Anyone here read "Brilliant Orange" ? Do you recommend it?
-
Yeah I read about the political asylum thing too, apparently Kubala had to dress himself as a russian police (or army man) to get out of hungary and sneak into spain, he also had to swim across danube river in this process of escaping.

So I have a question for the barcelona faithful who are aware of their history. I know about the DiStefano transfer and general franco meddling with those matters and snatching him away from barcelona despite joining them and playing few pre season friendlies. But recently I read somewhere that barcelona are no saints and that they implemented a similar plot and took away kubala from madrid, can anyone who knows more about this story let me know what happened during that time
-
He showed so much loyalty towards barcelona by sitting on the bench for half a season due to transfer ban now its the time for the club to repay him. He deserves to play/stay wherever he wants to.

ill agree with everything you said except that last line, walcott is not a goal threat mate, if anything he will shoot into the keeper's hands half the time. I still believe Ox can shine under a good manager and could be a much better player than he was at Arsenal.
-
Walcott cant beat a keeper one on one or cant dribble past a single defender, all he has is pace and I doubt any other club really would bid for him. Atleast Ox will shine under a different manager I think
-
Why was Ox sold but not Walcott, I personally would have liked to see Walcott gone instead of Ox. Still there is so much of dead weight in the team and nothing really was added in the most important areas. Arent arsenal the only team in the league without a proper defensive midfielder who knows to tackle and win the ball? The closest and the best option the club has is Coquelin

How does the buy out clauses work mate? I know that the clause means any club wanting to buy a player needs to pay a minimum of that clause amount to the club owning the player. But how do they determine how much the buy out clause should be and when they change the number do they have to pay the player more? Like in this case if they are improving the buy out clause to 1billion then will Real Madrid have to pay a % of that to Asensio, the player, as his salary?

Im just being wary of the competition from barcelona after this new board's miracles

Wow I didnt know that Mustafi was leaving until I read your post. Just saw in sky and looks like thats confirmed and not sure whats the club's plan now. Gabriel was sold, Mustafi is gone and Per is almost reitred and now the team is going to depend on one proper CB (Kos) and a youngster in Holding and Chambers being the backup. Unless Wenger is getting someone to replace Mustafi I can see this season becoming absolute shambles.

enjoy the moment that you've been waiting for 20 years , may not last until knockouts

Arsenal face Bate, Koln and Redstar Belgrade in Europa league group stages. Im very excited about the away match at Belgrade, I watched so many of their fans videos in stadiums and they looked electric.

Strong news that Dembele has been signed.

Dont think Arsenal will get the top 4 spot for me. Two Manchester clubs, Spurs and Liverpool are all easily capable of finishing above Arsenal, add Chelsea to the mix who also have a good chance for top 4 spot I dont really think Arsenal will get the champions league spot.
-
If there is really a CM coming in then I wish its a world class one but not another Xhaka or Elneny type player. Whats the use of having so many average to above average players for the same position.
-
I think he will be a great player because unlike most of them you mentioned above Asensio is playing for the best team in the world right now by a mile while it was probably not the case back then for Real Madrid. Add to that a good manager (not sure about his tactics) but he is getting something done right and its all working, especially the way he is handling so many superstars and the rotation, and also trusts in their young players. There couldnt be a better platform to boost his confidence and help him play the best he can. Unless he gets a bad injury like Jese had or he loses his head by diverting like Balotelli or a mix of both like Wilshere , he should be the next big thing in football for me.

how many individual errors he has committed to call "he is being torn or ripped"? Im not saying he is still great and agreed that maybe he is not as good as he was, say, 2 yrs ago and like you said above he is getting exposed due to weak midfield maybe. Pique (barcelona CBs in general) covers a lot of space because their midfielders dont sit back and help the defence, they play a high line with ball possession and its always a suicide when their midfield doesnt keep the ball and lose it, as the CBs wil have to cover a lot of ground to get back from their high line and Pique who is not a speedster will always be in trouble in such situations. Anyways I dont think he is really being torn apart except maybe on an odd occasion like yesterday but I will have to check the two examples you quoted as I honestly dont remember what happened in those two matches.
-
That was my response to cicero's "he was ripped apart".... I meant to say he was not being ripped apart from a long time, he actually has been brilliant for the last 3-4 years but probably yeah he is declining but he wasnt getting ripped apart all the time like yesterday.
-
They can bid for Gabriel, he is up for sale for 25 million which is peanuts for them with all the Neymar money they have
-
too soon to say he is a liability, it was just one match

I never saw Gerrard or Carragher saying a young player has scouse DNA in him mate
