  1. I'm watching on TV, so will just leave it on and take a nap until early morning

All dogs seem to do, but then the feeling's mutual... I'm fully committed to becoming a crazy dog lady in about 40 years

    I'm willing to share.
  4. Well, it looks like I will get some sleep tonight, after all.
  5. Seen much worse, but it's been raining for quite a while and it overloaded the drainages so there's simply too much standing water on some parts of the track... Many cars (including the leader) aquaplaning and spinning. More rain expected in the next couple of hours, and conditions are supposed to get worse and worse until around 3 am. Look at that onboard, no visibilty whatsoever
  6. Race has been red flagged, as it's raining very hard and there's absolutely no visibility. Rain expected to last for hours, so at this point it's unclear when the race will resume

I'll have that tiny one at the top of the cutting board
  8. Heavy rain, cold, fog... Nürburgring at its best
  9. Naaaah, I'll leave that to you and just ask for updates when necessary
  10. Jesus, that's a lot of context for one insta comment
  11. Yeah, it's almost 21 km long! Stefan Bellof's record of 6:13.11 still holds since 1983, it's mad!
  12. @Eco, you should follow Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus. It's an American manufacturer and an absolutely cult character.
  13. Full quali results: 5 Mercedes, 4 BMW and a Ferrari in Top 10. Porsche problems continue, #18 with a technical defect and out of the Top 2 quali Audi got screwed by poor tyre choice.
  14. Yes, but a different, much smaller circuit is used for F1 racing (known as GP-Strecke)... The long circuit you see here is the original Nordschleife, it's too dangerous for F1.
  15. Not as much, but as in any other race, you'd rather have a good starting position to be in front and have clean air for as long as possible, so it still matters.
  16. It's where my German home is well, or used to be, rather. Just a few kilometers away from the Ring... Also, it's not Nürenburg but Nürburg (in the Eifel)
  17. Yes, the race starts at 15:30 CET tomorrow! You can watch it live with English commentary on their official youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKgMzHVA7nsDsDEKKMc9bKA It's pretty much a GT3 race, so no LMP1/LMP2 prototypes like in Le Mans. I love it, as I don't really like prototypes anyway, and GT racing is the most fun for me. Also, the circuit is the best of the crop
  18. Top 30 qualifying for 24H Nürburgring about to start!
  19. To be fair, Kobayashi only lost out to Perez during the 2012 season - and even then, it was very close. 66-60 in championship points, 11-9 in qualifying. Before that, he generally did as well as his teammates in qualifying and better than his teammates in races every season. 2009 - debut season, drove only in two races. Lost to his teammate Trulli in qualifying, but got the better of him in those two races. 2010 - Beat Heidfeld both in qualifying and in races (11-6 in pts), was equal to de la Rosa in qualifying and comfortably beat him in races (21-6 in pts). 2011 - was better than de la Rosa in one quali/race (6-0 in pts), was equal to Perez in qualifying, beat him in races (24-14 pts). 2012 - got outqualified and outscored by Perez (60-66 in pts). 2014 - no points in a shitty Caterham for either him or his teammates, but he outqualified Ericsson quite clearly. And yes, he's fantastic in sportscars, still love watching him.
  20. Kamui Kobayashi. Loved watching him - fast, aggressive, daring, entertaining. Definitely an underrated driver, and would have done much better if he had the funding and better teams.
