  1. Hope the series finds a new home and is not canceled. Deserves by far more attention than it gets...
  2. Yellow card for you. This is a football-free off topic zone!
  3. Yeah, opened a thread in the transfer rumours area yesterday, but was just talking to myself there anyway Ajax already increased their initial bid to 9m + 3m in bonuses. No agreement yet, but Klaassen is unlikely to stay. This weekend's game against Arminia might as well be his last one for the club.
  4. Just started watching it, 5 minutes in, and after seeing the house and the elevator I'm already certain I will find it creepy
  5. Yes! Pre-ordered it on Epic Games last week! You?

Life changing indeed... The kid's completely overwhelmed with the sudden soud of everything around him, can imagine something like that will take a while to process and get used to...
  7. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic + Knights of the Old Republic II. A great RPG, even if you don't like the movies or never watched them. The Godfather. A fantastic game that retells the entire first movie from the eyes of a new recruit.
  8. Really enjoyed Season 1. Season 2, not so much, but still decent... Johnny is the best
  9. Yes, superpowers flexing their muscles and using all sorts of influence to dictate the course of events around the globe has been happening for thousands of years and it's part of geopolitics, so I agree with you that it's an inevitable reality, sadly. I can also understand prefering one superpower over another, though as you duly noted in your last paragraph, that's also often questionable. It's not what grinded my gears though. It's the suggestion that the world actually NEEDS the president of the US to assume the role of "the leader of the free world" (lol) in order for the humanity to be saved and prosper, as if the rest of the world were a bunch of peasant hillbillies with no skill, knowledge and competence and needed the guidance of a benevolent figurehead from a glorious superpower to save them all. That's borderline Cold War rhetoric full of demagoguery that is condescending and, frankly, quite insulting to the rest of the world.
  10. Funnily enough, it's the smaller and, in many cases, less wealthy countries that dealt with the pandemics best by getting their first responses in early and implementing the most adequate measures of control - all that without looking for any guidance from the self-proclaimed "leaders of the free world". Maybe the US and other big players should have swallowed their pride and taken lessons from the response of those they deem to be too small, too un-free and too irrelevant to be able to competently deal with arising issues on their own...
  11. This post sounds like propaganda from the 70s, haha. "Leader of the free world"; such a cringy term, a relict of the Cold War and a patronising representation of "the west vs the rest" narrative. Those days are long gone, and nobody needs the president of the US (or any other country, really) to become a self-proclaimed global leader again and attempt to dictate the course of action to the rest of the world.
  12. I mean, I was always able to separate the art from the artist, so it doesn't really bother me, especially considering that all that happened at least five decades ago and was, at least partially, a product of different time. Also his works are too good to miss... There's a TV adaptation coming up, by the way!
  13. Good stuff! Loved Dawn of the Jedi, especially the ancient Je'daai order, and it also has one of my all time favourite minor characters in the Star Wars universe. Asimov's Foundation? Sure, one of the earliest scifi I read as a child... Loved it. Didn't even know anything about his questionable lifestyle, had to Google it
  14. Copycat! I quite enjoyed that one, a decent story.
  15. Depends on the formation, don't think Rashica will start anyway. But if/when we play with two wingers, then a fit Rashica will definitely be one of them, and the rest including Bittencourt will fight for the other spot.
  16. Bittencourt actually played on the wing last match, with Mbom, Eggestein and Klaassen in midfield, and I hope that's how it stays. Rashica should be fit for Arminia, though.
  17. Osako on the wing? That would be a new low for Kohfeldt...
  18. Doubt we'd get a replacement for him at all, to be honest. A defensive midfielder is a priority, so if Rashica goes, I expect us to sign someone for that position first. All depends on how much money we get and who's available on the market...
  19. We'll, we apparently agreed terms with Aston Villa (said to be 22.5 million Euro), but Rashica's wage requirements are too high, so there's no deal yet. Not sure if it happens or not, wouldn't be surprised if he stayed, after all.
  20. Nice photo. Just one tip: consider using manual focus point selection and focus on the eyes of the cat, as when you have it on auto it usually focuses on the thing nearest to the camera and it happens to be the nose most of the time, haha.

    Cooking

Hehe. I'll get the curry, you get the beer. Turmeric is the main ingredient influencing the colour Made the paste yesterday by blending some shallots, garlic cloves, Thai chillies, lemongrass, kaffir lime, turmeric, galangal, coriander, cumin, salt, peppercorns, cardamom, cinnamon and a tablespoon of shrimp paste. Then mix the paste with the coconut milk as usual, add some fish sauce and palm suggar, the veggies and meat of choice (I used bell peppers, baby corn cobs, shitake mushrooms, soybean sprouts, chinese cabbage, red onions and beef), let everything simmer, garnish with kaffir lime leaves. That's it.
