  1. Yes, keep on watching, the series cover that all in detail... It's crazy how the engineers who actually tried to intervene and get the launch delayed still felt guilty and blamed themselves for the rest of their lives, whereas NASA management who decided to launch despite knowing the risks and ignoring them said they did not feel guilty at all and would have made the same decision again, because they thought it was the right decision Mental.
  2. More like they died because NASA violated its own safety rules by ignoring numerous warnings from the solid rocket booster manufacturer regarding the O-Rings issue for years prior to the incident, and decided to launch despite Thiokol key engineers being strongly against it on the day of the launch. Episode 4 made me furious.
  3. Christian Groß has extended his contract
  4. Chong was already in the squad against Hoffenheim. Agu is still in quarantine.
  5. Yes, currently in physiotherapy/reha in Berlin until next week...
  6. Don't worry, he's not fit for the Frankfurt match. Sargent the only striker now, Woltemade maybe an option although Kohfeldt seems to have decided to play him in midfield, Dinkci might be included in the squad.
  7. Glad you like it... Keep on watching, it gets more interesting, especially with the reveal how the tragedy really should have been avoided.
  8. There's an interesting documentary mini-series (4 episodes) called "Challenger: The Final Flight" on Netflix. It's an in depth look into the tragic incident of 1986, including the events leading to it, the people involved, as well as the general overview of the Space Shuttle program. Highly recommended.
  9. Netflix is making a live-action Assassin’s Creed series. https://www.theverge.com/2020/10/27/21536079/netflix-assassins-creed-live-action-series
  10. That logo is badass! Would definitely choose that over a massive club that wins every time. That's boring af!
  11. They are currently in the fourth research phase, evaluating how much money can be earned from TV rights and, more importantly, how the spots in European competitions would be distributed. I believe now both Dutch and Belgian leagues have 5 spots each, and are unwilling to have only 5 spots available after a merger. UEFA, on the other hand, is unwilling to give the new league more than that, so it's complicated.
  12. I mean, Jahanbakhsh and Mahdavikia didn't play for Bandar e-Anzali, did they???
  13. Theoreticaly, you can. But most naturally ocurring whirlpools in the rivers are way too small and have way too little power to be a viable large-scale solution, nevermind other potential issues such as freezing water in winter, debris, trash, etc. The big powerful ones in the oceans have the same issues as other existing marine technology, namely expensive and difficult installation, high maintenance and repair costs, challenges related to the bottom surface, gravel, sand, salt, corrosion, debris etc. Whirlpools in oceans are also highly dependent on the tides, so it's not a very stable source either.
  14. @Mel81x thought you might enjoy this: https://towardsdatascience.com/how-to-create-an-agent-based-simulation-model-37bd7b4b0da7 This probably isn't the right thread, wasn't sure where else to post it though; basically one fella created a computer model to simulate passenger happiness based on the conditions on the Snowpiercer. Nothing groundbreaking, but an interesting idea and experiment
  15. Looks like we have a full lineup for the standup comedy night
  16. Moved it to the right place, as you posted in the corona thread
  17. An interesting coincidence: Today, NASA announced that they found water in Clavius Crater, making it a great place for a potential future moonbase. In 2001: A Space Odyssey, Clavius crater is also the place where the moonbase was built, and then they discovered the Monolith in the nearby Tycho crater
  18. Same, I was worried his knee went again...
  19. Füllkrug has a calf muscle injury, will be out for a while, potentially back after the next international break or in the end of November. No serious injury to Osako.
