  1. The first time in forever I got a FIFA game at launch date. I've started a career mode with Real Madrid, which I hadn't done since FIFA 07. But with the current team I just can't resist the temptation to play all the top teams in the league and the CL.

I also made a back-up career mode to play with other teams. I started at Tottenham and got Bas Dost for way too much money (€50mln).

Overall I like the new gameplay as it's very pass-oriented, but it does once again seem slow. If you change direction with any player that isn't Ronaldo, you accelerate at a snail's pace.

  2. Insurance companies have protocols to fuck people over. They rely on your lack of persistence, so it's always worth bugging them to try and get a little more.

It works like that with most big companies really. My landlord was offered a 100 euro compensation for the faulty internet service and with a phonecall she got that up to 500.

  3. It's weird because tensions culminated so much under the Mourinho era that you'd think people have calmed down by now. For the most part this is true, but Ramos seems to have gotten progressively worse. He was one of my favourite footballers ever since he came over from Sevilla, but I'm really starting to grow tired of his shenanigans.

By contrast, Marcelo has grown into my favourite player of the whole bunch.

It's not just that, it was literally the fact that their defense was just as good as their attack. The way they win the ball back, control the game aswell as produce football this world has never seen before makes them at the pinnacle for me.

Barcelona's defence in their golden era is indeed underestimated. They were so good they succeeded for years to obscure the fact they had a very mediocre goalkeeper (Valdes). I remember reading a statistic in the 2006/07 season or the one after that which showed that Casillas had let in just a few more goals than Valdes despite receiving literally 3 times as many shots on goal.

But are they even trans!? Or are adults just telling them that? They coukd just like dressing up, or they couod jut be gay

As the saying goes, trans kids are like vegan cats: we all know who's making that choice.

You surely can't have done all three in a week or so?! Glad you've enjoyed them though and I've decided that I'm going to go and do them myself in the very near future.

Nah, I did about 1 a week and I could only finish the third one so soon because I had a few days off.

And I rushed through the first game, wish I kinda regret.

  7. Finished the Mass Effect series.

From the 'buzz' back in the day I always gathered part 2 was supposed to be the best, but I think 3 was easily the best one. In addition to having some of the most intense missions and difficult decisions (Krogan planet, Geth planet, I needn't say more), it was also the first game in the series that was a fucking great shooter. Contrary to previous entries, the weapons had real weight to them, and the arsenal to choose from was huge, especially with DLCs installed. Speaking of which, the Combat Simulator that comes with the Citadel DLC is fucking killer.

In any case, I sank way more hours into these games than I would be willing to admit, and it feels rotten that it's over now. Yeah, there's still Andromeda, but it's supposedly a rather weak entry. Also, it's an entirely different story arc, with (for as far as I can tell) none of the characters that you bonded with across the initial trilogy. I think the only cure is playing through these games again sometime.

But yeah, it's a fantastic trilogy that holds up well, and Mass Effect 3 is easily in my top 5 games of all time.

  8. So is it that time of the generation again where Latin American countries make their switch from socialist rogue states to capitalist hellholes controlled by the US and fruit corporations?

Time is not linear, it's cyclical.

You think that is bad but the BBC cast a black woman as this real life human bean:

You do know what BBC stands for, right?

I've wanted to do Mass Effect myself but thought that the original wouldn't stand the test of time with it's now poor graphics and whatnot. I guess I was wrong?

I was also going to jump straight into Andromeda when it was released but was put off by the insane amount of poor reviews.

The graphics were quite good for their time, and I really had no distractions while playing. Some of the textures are quite low-res, but seeing as it is a third-person game, you won't often come close enough for it to really bother you. Mass Effect 2 really looks great, so if you can get through the first game (and you will), there's that question solved.

  11. Finally decided to play through the Mass Effect Trilogy. Finished the first game last weekend and it was quite brilliant. Now about 4 hours into Mass Effect 2 and while the atmosphere and setting are even better than in the first game, I don't like the game mechanics as much. The introduction of ammo was so unnecessary.
