Bought them a little while ago on PS4 but haven't got round to playing them. I remember @Panflute rating the Metro games very highly on 'that' forum.
I've only played Metro 2033 and it was quite good, but nowhere near as good as STALKER, which were among the best shooters of their generation.

A bell-end indeed, but a bell-end having second thoughts doesn't change the fact that the EU is a profoundly bad idea in both concept and execution.

I can't help but find these intracontinental rivalries hilarious.

I want to go to Colombia next year to visit some friends of mine who live there. They're in a band so we might even record a shitty demo while I'm there.
I also might go somewhere this summer but I'm not sure where.

Russians are saying they might've killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Bagdadi in an airstrike. It isn't the first time such an event was reported, so take it with a grain of salt until it is confirmed.

The Dutch national team (squad & staff) is so full of big ego gobshites that I do not care one single bit if we qualify for the World Cup at this point. Maybe the warm feelings will come back once the tournament fever draws closer, but I didn't care about us missing out on Euro 2016 either.

For some reason I've stopped getting alerts on the @ function... Have to have a look at my settings tomorrow morning.
Guti was an extremely gifted player with some extraordinary flashes of utter brilliance. But you said it yourself... His career practically means nothing of any note and he never even managed to be a feature for Spain. His attitude was terrible and very public too which doesn't win you any privileges with your coach whoever he may be. He is a cult figure for the fervent and fanatical Real Madrid fan though with his famed hatred for Barça being one of the reasons for this.
But he was gifted and a shame he threw it away in various different ways. There's one particular piece of play that comes to mind nearer the end of his career where he backheels a deliberate pass for a goal but I can't remember who it was against only that I remember thinking it was magical and inspirational.
Guti was the best player on the pitch when he cared to make the effort. Sadly, he couldn't bring himself to care for more than 2 games a season.
It was a real shame. He had the ability to make deadly through balls and he was amazing in 1-on-1 situations due to his confidence. All too often that confidence escalated into arrogance, so in his bad games you might as well have played with 10 men.

From what I've seen on sosyul medier people mainly seem to be happy with his presidency (prime-ministerness?) because he can be used to make passive-aggressive political statements.

As a part German, you are not allowed to accuse other nations of having peculiar sexual kinks.

What TV Series Are You Watching?
in Film & TV

Watched the entirety of Marble Hornets over the past week. It's a web series that focuses on Slenderman, a pseudo-folkloric boogeyman-like figure that was created on the internet some years back. Bluntly put, it's one of the best things I've ever watched. While initially the series is carried by the novelty of the Slenderman mythos (which the series is largely responsible for developing) and savvy use of YouTube as a publishing platform (think Blair Witch Project for the internet generation), it eventually evolves into an engaging psychological thriller with supernatural elements. While some of the acting midway through the series is a bit shakey, the actor who plays Tim (real name Tim Sutton) is absolutely superb and carries the series to new heights across the last 30 or so episodes.
It's a unique project and I'm sad the series is over, but surely I'll come back to it sometime in the future.
Here you can find all of the main entries into the series:
