Dad is a former British driver, did all of his early racing career using English facilities and provision. I personally don’t care at all but can clearly see why some people would feel aggrieved that a British National that’s born and spent his whole life here has decided to drive under another flag I could understand that, but considering that England or private British companies didn't sponsor him at all and he was forced to go to Thailand to look for support there or quit his racing career, I think it's perfectly understandable why he's driving under a Thai flag.
