Bizarre and amateur-ish really. If they've known throughout the international break that a (highly probable) defeat to Chelsea was going to be enough for them to pull the plug then they should have the replacement pretty much done. Plays into what @Dave said earlier about the timing being odd. I gave them the benefit of the doubt initially but it doesn't look like someone they wanted has suddenly come available and if they have approached Potter and he's said no then they should have known that weeks ago really. Van Nistelrooy is the closest linked and the name doing the rounds. I agree about the international break. The Chelsea defeat shouldn't have been the straw that broke the camel's back. Alluded to it in another post but this decision should have been made as soon as we lost to Forest. To give him 3 extra weeks makes no sense. To me, though, that seems like they didn't have someone planned to take over. Or perhaps they were eyeing up Van Nistelrooy but because his future was unknown at Man Utd they've had to wait it out. But yes, timing is odd and our current owners have never done things in a straight-forward way.

Ayew has been probably the best signing so far other than Buonanotte but I don't think it's saying a lot. Come up trumps with very big goals. I do wonder how he'd be viewed if the Southampton penalty had been given though - it was him who pulled the shirt. I don't mind him in the squad though. I get the appeal. Yeah people made the mistake of assuming we operated like a proper club. We've been a complete joke for years. The only encouragement for me is that it's clear Top has just left it in what he believed were capable hands and that he's starting to realise that he's fucked up. I'd give Top another chance if he got rid of Rudkin.
