Whether people like it or not, it will reopen the safe standing debate on the premise that all it takes is for an inexperienced steward or officer to make a decision to close a gate for something like this to happen. It’s got nothing to do with safe standing, or terracing at Football stadiums, so that would be grossly inappropriate and a massive diversion from what’s likely to be the truth. McGregor appeared to kick out at Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer during the first half of Rangers' 1-0 defeat at Celtic Park, but referee Willie Collum did not see the incident.
