This comes after Evans recently made an appearance on The Athletic’s Villa-based podcast 1874 to reflect on Villa’s recent 1-0 defeat to Wolves at the weekend. After being asked if there were any doubts over whether or not Smith will still be the Villa manager by the end of the season, Evans shared the latest news on the situation. He said: “It’s my understanding that they’ll stick with him until the end of the season. The fact that he had three months during lockdown to work on this team and get a real plan together, he still claims that he’s got a plan for every single game.
