Dave Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Andriy Yarmolenko will be out for six months after tearing his Achilles tendon in West Ham's 1-0 home defeat to Tottenham on Saturday. The Hammers winger went down inside the Spurs penalty box in the 40th minute after appearing to catch his studs in the turf. Yarmolenko was carried off on a stretcher and, after being assessed, underwent surgery in London on Monday.
Administrator Stan Posted October 24, 2018 Administrator Posted October 24, 2018 Ouch. On the highlights you could see how serious it was straight away with Spurs putting the ball out when they could have countered and gone up and scored. Perhaps the screams of agony you could hear showed how serious it was at the time too. I quite like him as a player but injuries have plagued him during his Dortmund time too. Hope he makes a full recovery as this is an injury that could haunt him for years - either physically if it doesn't heal fully or mentally given how susceptible he could be to further Achilles injuries.
Smiley Culture Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 The real West Ham Way alive and well. Sign player, wait for them to get injured, wait for them to get fit, wait for them to get injured again.
Cicero Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Achilles? Looked like a knee injury from the looks of it.
