Sky Sports revealed last week that Blackburn were expected to make a formal bid for the striker, but he has now passed a medical after a fee was agreed between the two clubs. Tony Mowbray's side had been in talks with the Saints for two weeks - but despite interest from Wigan and Brentford the 23-year-old looks set to move to the North West. Gallagher spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Ewood Park, scoring 11 goals, and was loaned to Birmingham the following campaign, top-scoring for the Blues in the league with six goals. Mowbray took Gallagher on loan to Ewood Park during the 2016-17 season Southampton, who did not take him on their pre-season trip to Austria, want a deal of around £5m for the former England U20 striker, who spent last season on loan at Birmingham City. Ralph Hasenhuttl is looking to trim the wage bill and make room for new signings, with high-earning goalkeepers Fraser Forster and Alex McCarthy also up for sale.

Yeah when you copy and paste in to the reply box, there should be an option at the bottom of it to 'paste as plain text'.
tlr Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Potential for a very clever move on our behalf, reports of £4.5-5M for him but with Graham having another year tops left in him and Dack inevitably being in the sights of other teams we do need some firepower that are reay to step up, and Brereton, Arma and now Gallagher can do just that. Only concern now is how lopsided our squad is, we have enough midfielders and forwards to fill the Blackburn End, whereas we don't have Championship grade keeper any more and our defence is anchored entirely on Lenihan and then three other less good players. No point having an attack that can get 40 goals a season between them if our back line just as easily shifts 70. Nowt that can't be solved by bringing back Friedel, Neill, Todd and Emerton!
