Netherlands played like I had expected England, France, Italy and Portugal would play. Good but not brilliant. Now they'll have a wave of optimism and they should feel confident of beating any side on our bracket to the final.

When Slovakia scored I turned round to the people I was with in boxpark and said: "we are in trouble here. Southgate is out of ideas". And I still think I'm right, he was a minute away from losing his job and our last throw of a dice was on overhead kick that saved his job. The limbs at that moment though, in that atmosphere at Wembley, you couldn't make it up. I'm sure after this tournament and think it's rather sad that my greatest ever moment was a 95th minute goal against England in my Gazza 96 shirt, but I wouldn't change it for the world. I hope we improve, but I can't see us beating Switzerland given we didn't improve. Southgate will be a Palace manager sooner rather than later

If he said that I'm suddenly nervous. The issue is there is no cohesion. Three players all dropping deep to get the ball whilst the fluidity of our play has been the level of a Championship team. I'm watching the game with people I haven't watched England with since the Iceland debacle, which doesn't help my nerves. I have every faith in us defensively but there's been so many out of the area goals this tournament I'm concerned if something happens Southgate doesn't have an answer.

Italy looked like a Championship team but credit to Switzerland they looked very impressive. We would have to improve significantly to get past them if they play like that again.

I expected that (and the Tah change), I think tournament football suits that profile of striker well.
