  1. FPL have done it. After making everybody feel cheap last year to appeal to casual players, and then lose those casual players after they lose transfers. They've upped the amount of transfers you can save to try and retain players whilst making the selection process more difficult for those more engaged players. Salah has the better fixtures, Haaland has had a summer to reboot. Salah is the best captain for gameweek 1 whilst Haaland is the best captain for gameweek 2. But putting them both in the same team causes a lot of sacrifices elsewhere. I think we will see a lot of differing strategies early on.
  2. Up until now, you've only been able to bank two free transfers. Well, if you want to be patient and plan ahead, you can now accumulate up to FIVE free transfers. On top of that, when you play the Wildcard and Free Hit chips, your saved transfers will no longer reset to zero. So you can now save five free transfers, then play any of your chips and immediately have five free transfers to use in the following Gameweek. You've always been able to keep two free transfers when playing the Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips, so there's no real change there - except that you can now bank the extra three free transfers as well. Upping the saved transfers amount is a massive change. There’s been plenty periods over the years where I’ve tinkered with my squad for fear of losing a transfer when in practice I could have just left it. Makes the wildcards a lot less significant also.
  3. I get why Atletico didnt have a big release clause at the time, albeit that looks a little foolish given what's happened at the Euro's.
  4. He should tear that league up.
  5. Lando Lando Sainz Russell 9th Sainz
  6. Surely has Fifa has got to issue bans for those involved in this?
  7. I can't say I'm surprised that Peter Bleksley is condemning the armchair detectives, despite igniting them with his comments during the Nicola Bulley investigation. I guess his opinion just changes with who improves his bank balance.
  8. But if Klopp or Poch are not interested, and we're not going to offer Glasner a contract the size of Lineker's BBC one, there's one man we shouldn't overlook.
  9. To be fair, it's a piece of cake for two years, even Roy sleepwalked us to tournaments with less teams qualifying, then it's 100mph when the tournament starts.
  10. "Numbers lie and liars use numbers". Without looking at the statistics I'd assume Trent is higher for tackles, ball recoveries etc and I'd also assume Manchester City have had more possession than Liverpool. For that reason I'd also assume Kyle Walker had conceded less errors leading to a shot or a goal.
  11. Simon Carvajal - Le Normand - Laporte - Cucurella Rodri - Ruiz Yamal - Olmo - Williams Mikautadze
  12. Kyle Walker is definitely better than Trent Alexander-Arnold defensively. The only people that think otherwise are Liverpool fans. Not that it matters now that Gareth is gone, because if the new manager wants to play a back four, Ben White should be a certainty at right back unless he done something completely so outrageous he's not allowed back in to the camp.
  13. I hope they at least speak to Klopp and Poch before they go English or promote Carsley. Given how many years they're worked in England, I don't think there would be the same disconnect we had with Capello and (to a lesser extent) Sven.
  14. I think it's the right time for change. I'm sure as the years go on he will be remembered as the man who changed the culture amongst the players as opposed to being the bridesmaid in finals. If he stayed another tournament I'm worried his legacy would have been tainted.
