  1. After taking an immediate lead, PSG find themselves 2-1 down to Le Havre before the hour mark.
  2. PSG kick the season off and they havent let Hakimi empty his suitcase from the Olympics.
  3. Good end to the Girona game, both Girona and Betis were playing like it's 0-0 in a knockout game with five minutes to go. Abel Ruiz had a great chance to win it but he hit the post.
  4. Peter Ridsdale was on Talksport praising the job Ryan Lowe had done just last Tueaday.
  5. Chelsea have become the first club where fans are asking their owners not to sign anyone.
  6. Watched MK/Bradford and Birmingham/Reading after the Leeds/Portsmouth game. If this is the future of football in this country then I'm all for it. Bradford won through a very good strike but they were well organised against the best team on paper at this level. MK Dons need to figure out a way to get Kelly and Carroll in the starting eleven. Birmingham I thought were poor. The way they all pressed forward for Reading's goal was pretty comical, but managers will do this repeatedly to try and impress bigger clubs now given its worked for Russell Martin, Enzo Maresca etc. Spending all that money and having Bailey Peacock-Farrell in goal is a sorry state of affairs too. Worth mentioning I thought the lady on colour commentary in the Leeds game was good. If this new system is generating more jobs and opportunities for better commentators that are not set in there ways after years of being comfortable in spite of football evolving tenfold in the last 5 or so years then that's another good thing.
  7. Bates other teams. Cries when his team gets mentioned. Are we sure Whiskey isn't Cannabis?
  8. That Leeds game was a fantastic advertisement for the new Sky Sports deal.
  9. This is the first time all summer I have been concerned. The reason we've contacted an ex-player who left under a bit of a cloud to return on loan after a big drop in his stock would be because we don't think any of the other targets are worth transfer fee. Previously when we have been in this position we have signed nobody. Keeping Eze feels crucial now and with his release fee that's out of control. At the minute we have the quality in Eze and Kamara with the depth of Sarr, Rak-Sakyi, Ayew and Franca. If you take out Eze and believe the rumours regarding Rak-Sakyi and Ayew then it becomes piss poor.
  10. If he picks Leicester I get it, there isn't anything left for him to do at Palace.
  11. A season long loan. I think it makes sense for everybody. He's fallen out with the Galatasary fan base. He feels like they loved him, then he got injured, he played well on his return, but they had moved on and wanted on another shiny toy. The Galatasary fans simply dont think hes worth the wages and want him goine. This is what most Palace fans expected to happen. Nobody else in Europe is going to pay close to the wages we're willing to pay. So it makes sense for Galatasary, it makes sense for Zaha to play football regularly and it makes sense for us to bide our time to see if better players are available next summer.
  12. Oliver Glasner with a little dig at all our players that got runners up medals this summer. Clearly second place will not be good enough this season.
  13. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cd199g72x03o Quite disappointed we won't be seeing him in The Prem. He looked excellent for Norwich last season.
  14. Ive gone rogue and im doing a 1 to 24 so i can laugh at myself by October. CHAMPIONSHIP 1. Leeds 2. Burnley I think these two should be disappointed if they don't get promoted. Leeds United would have gone up any other season with quality they showed last season, and whilst they've lost quality, Bogle is arguably a more complete right back than Gray and you'd fancy them to bring in a marquee attacking signing now Summerville has gone. Plus i fancy the bite of missing out the playoffs to spur them on. Burnley have three promotions in the last three seasons at this level, Scott Parker has two promotions in two seasons at this level. They have about 50 players so once Parker trims the fat, find 18 odd good players and get going I fancy them for promotion. 3. Luton 4. Coventry 5. Sheff Utd 6. Boro 7. Hull City I think the playoff teams will come from this batch of five. The top four in particular are primed to finish in the top six, whilst I fancy Hull to bring in 6+ players before the deadline and look good again. 8. Norwich 9. Swansea 10. Millwall 11. Stoke City 12. West Brom 13. Sheff Wed 14. QPR 15. Bristol City 16. Preston 17. Cardiff 18. Sunderland This is the generic "won't go up won't go down" batch that could finish anywhere from 8th to 18th. I'm curious to see what could happen to the likes of West Brom, Wednesday, QPR and Cardiff if they lose there managers. Im also interested to see which foreign striker goes off at the likes of QPR, Cardiff and Swansea as that could change there entire outlook. I have Sunderland lowest just because I don't trust there owner. 19.Watford 20. Blackburn 21. Plymouth 22. Oxford 23. Portsmouth 24. Derby County Relegation feels really difficult this season. I think Watford and Blackburn could be surprise relegations given the underwhelming leadership we've been seeing at the top of the hierarchy for 12+ months. Plymouth feel like they wouldn't look out of place in the League One playoff chase if Whittaker leaves but they're probably the best ran team in the EFL. I've put the three promoted teams in the three relegation places but I wouldn't be surprised if this batch of six is flipped outside down. I've been impressed with Oxford's transfer business, but they needed to do that just to keep up. I've not been impressed with either Derby or Portsmouth as of yet, and the loss of Colby Bishop and Abu Kamara for differing reasons will really hurt Portsmouth. League One 1. Birmingham For those that haven't seen, the owners have really put there money where there mouths are and are spending at a rate we haven't seen before. It would be a real failure if they're in this division for more than one season. 2. Rotherham 3. Bolton 4. Huddersfield 5. Stockport 6. Charlton 7. Wrexham 8. Wigan 9. Lincoln This is the batch of teams that I think could make the playoffs and subsequently get promoted this seasons and I have just ranked them in order of how surprised I'd be if they missed out on the playoffs. Rotherham and Steve Evans feels like a good fit and they're landing players he wants, Bolton should have gone up last season and have the nucleus of the same squad, the Huddersfield squad feels like Michael Duffs first good job for a certain level, Stockport have a winner in Challinor and have made good signings, Charlton getting Nathan Jones feels like a que and the quality of players he's attracted suggests a bug turn around, Wrexham need no introduction and will probably be in the automatic hunt next season if they don't get promoted, Wigan have some very good individuals they'll need to keep but Maloney seems to be doing a good job and I was impressed with what Lincoln were building last season. 10. Peterborough 11. Barnsley 12. Bristol Rovers 13. Mansfield 14. Wycombe 15. Blackpool 16. Leyton Orient 17. Burton 18. Reading This batch of teams are in my cop out "won't go up won't go down" section, but what I will day is every one of these clubs and there fan bases have every right to think they're heading in the right direction and have reason to be optimistic of 'maybe' getting a playoff place. Which is a little unusual to say given some of them have to finish 16th, 17th and 18th. 19. Northampton 20 Exeter 21. Cambridge 22. Shrewsbury 23. Crawley 24. Stevenage It feels like, to me, these six are slightly off the pace from the other clubs that are seemingly improving and will therefore make up the relegation places unless there's a massive fail elsewhere. I dont mind Exeter or Northampton, but I wouldn't say they've improved this season. Cambridge and Shrewsbury have been slowly regressing every season and now I feel they've circled the plug hole one too many times. Crawley, well, we're about to find out if this recruitment analyst they hired belongs at a top half Premiership club with his data model or if it was just fluke last season. Stevenage being bottom looks surprising but it's important to remember that team was built for Steve Evans, before him they were a mid table League Two club, and they have a Manager who failed with them in League Two. A new managerial appointment could give them a real shot in the arm. League Two 1. MK Dons 2. Port Vale 3. Doncaster 4. Bradford 5. Salford 6. Carlisle The owners of these clubs have been making real statements this summer and I'd be surprised if the automatic promoted batch isn't from within this group. 7. Chesterfield 8. Grimsby 9. Gillingham 10. AFC Wimbledon 11. Colchester United 12. Crewe Alexandra 13. Walsall 14. Tramnere The fanbases of these clubs have reasons to be optimistic either through how they finished last season or what changes they've made in the summer. They should all have aspirations as high as a playoff finish this season, and as Crawley showed, if you've got a seat at the table for those three matches anything can happen. 15. Fleetwood Town 16. Barrow 17. Notts County 18. Bromley The generic "Not going up, not going down" category. Fleetwood feel chaotic but there's enough there to avoid relegation, Barrow and Notts County i see having big dips from last season and promoted non-league sides don't go down. 19. Swindon 20. Newport 21. Cheltenham 22. Harrogate 23. Morecambe 24. Accrington Stanley These teams feel like they're on a downward trajectory and I can see that continuing. I think the bottom four are at more risk of going down than the top two, but if a team outside these six go down then there needs to be some form of inquest at that club.
  15. Like last season... CHAMPIONSHIP 1. 2. Play-off Winner - 22. 23. 24. ___________________________________________________ LEAGUE ONE 1. 2. Play-off Winner - 21. 22. 23. 24. ___________________________________________________ LEAGUE TWO 1. 2. 3. Play-off Winner - 23. 24.
