Look, if you can stop stamping your feet for a minute ... I think everyone (including myself) have said we could do with a new CB at the moment due to circumstances. What some of us are saying however is that it's highly unlikely that anyone will be be signed in January, its highly unlikely that anyone will be signed during a pandemic, and its highly unlikely anyone will be signed when we have extremely talented CB's already at the club, just injured. Some of us realise that it's not as simple as just scrolling through the transfer market option and picking the best CB to sign. Some of us realise that there is much much much much much more to consider.. such as the players we might want to sign, the players we already have, the clubs we want to sign players from, the foreign player rules ... etc etc etc etc etc ... it isn't just as simple as "AAARGGHHHHH WE NEED A FUCKING CB... GET ME ONE NOOOOOOOWWWWW", like some on here seem to think it is. Players already at the club have contracts and you can't just rip them up when they suddenly become injured. Also, most good players don't want to join good clubs knowing they probably won't be first choice when injured players return to fitness. Clubs also don't want to sell their best CB's midway through a season. There is also the fact that we are at our limit of foreign players. The most likely outcome is that we make do with what we have for now. That means hoping our injured players return quickly and stay fit, hoping our versatile players can fill in where necessary, and hoping that our young players can be taught and develop quickly enough to give us a chance. If that's not enough then fair enough... we can put it down to being very unlucky that we have suffered many injuries to players who occupy the same position. You can't plan for the shit luck we've had in that department. Screaming and shouting for a new player, in every thread, after every game we drop points isn't the answer though... its not going to happen so get used to it for fuck sake.

I never said you know better than Klopp? You do bang on though as if you have a clue. And yes, it's nearly always you! See how things pan out and stop fucking moaning all the time might be a good idea?
-
Was just talking in general so chill out ya fucking scatty cunt Was just saying it's not easy to find a player who will come in now, knowing we have excellent players coming back from injury. Its also not easy to persuade a club to sell a decent CB in Jan. Not to mention we will go over our foreign quota with a foreign signing. But hey, Rick knows best. Honestly, if we don't sign a CB and win the league, I'm going to rub your face in it so much you'll need 6 face masks.

At least our young CB's are being trained daily with the first team, so they will be improving and understanding the style/system/tactics etc on a daily basis. Klopp has a very good record of blooding youngsters. I mean, in the world of Football Manager you can just go out and buy who you want and sell who you don't want in the next window. In the real world though that really isn't an option. I'm not going to bother going over the reasons we can't just sign ANYONE, because it's been done a thousand times already. Any dingbat can understand it, or they should do.
-
I'd say how are we supposed to develop our young players if we are bringing in plodders like that?
-
You can't guarantee signing someone who can be relied upon fitness wise though. I'm sure when we signed Kieta it wasn't just for the odd game here and there for example. It's a shame if true regarding Gini, he will need replacing no doubt. Lets just hope who we do sign someone as durable as him. Never going to happen unfortunately, he is a machine.

Some players develop quicker than others mate, some mature as players with time whereas some thrive as teenagers. For every Balotelli there is a Salah or De Bruyne. There are countless examples of players flourishing as they get older. Im not saying Sanches is suddenly great all of a sudden but if we did sign him I wouldn't be giving up on him already. It was only about 3 years ago that our own fans were saying Henderson had no business playing for us. He was about 26 at the time. Some of our fans (and fans of other clubs) were saying Salah was an uninspiring signing, a Chelsea reject. At 18 Robertson was stacking shelves in a supermarket, when he signed for us people laughed. I dunno, maybe Sanches got too much unwanted publicity as a teenager (he got loads of awards for best young player etc) and that affected him for the worst? Maybe went to his head? It might be a load of shite that we have agreed to sign him but if it is true then im pretty sure Klopp & Edwards etc have done their homework mate.

Hes only 23
-
Think its more to do with Wijnaldum not yet signing a new contract if anything. Probably all shite anyway.
-
Tentative rumours in the press that we have agreed £18m for Renato Sanches. Cant see it personally.
-
Im being serious.. I never wanted us to sell Sterling. You seriously have me mixed up with someone else pal. And no, Sterling wouldn't displace either of Mane or Salah. He'd be a luxury at best.
-
Think you've got me mixed up with someone else mate. I was the one saying £50m for Sterling wasnt enough because of his potential, whereas others were saying good riddance. I always thought Sterling would become a quality player and that we shouldn't have sold him. Turns out I was wrong because he wouldn't get in our first 11 now.

Roy Keane: "My mindset when I was at the club was that I always had to play. "Listen, squad rotation is great and all that but don't be rotating me. I've got to play in the team 'Chop and change some other lads, Gary and one or two others but leave me to it.. Gary Neville: "I was a stalwart at right-back I'll have you know...'' Keane: "You were the only right-back at the club, we were stuck with you!'" -
Benteke and Sakho for nearly £60m Swapping Kevin Stewart for Robertson Edwards is a genius
-
Apparently Matip has a back injury.
-
You could just play a standard 433 like we do? That doesn't need wingers, just good FB's.
-
Im not going to say much because apparently we moan about injuries too much.

I remember when most of us raised an eyebrow when Klopp signed him, especially for £20+m. What an astute piece of business it turned out to be!

I honestly don't think there was ever this many arguments (literally every game) before VAR mate. Conversations are now suffocated with it. Was never this bad. -

Goal line technology is different, its a static line, not a moving one. You can't compare the two. -

Not really because they mess about with the lines that much more, its not conclusive. We are talking mili-seconds here and technology isn't advanced enough in football to know the exact mili-second a football leaves a players foot, to the exact mili-second that a player makes his run. Therefore, if its that close that it takes 5 minutes to start moving lines around... let the fucking game go on!! Its stupid, any fucking dullard can see that this kind of shite is ruining the game.
