  1. If Harit does depart for Atalanata, what the hell is Schalke going to do? Surely it's a common factor that you have to score goals to win, right? The only rumor I see coming to Schalke is Kolasinac (LB) from Arsenal,...but is the goal to really just rely on Uth, Kutucu, Ibisevic to score without much help?
  2. My main point though was Gotze spent more than half his life at a Club, and then left for their rivals, compared to a player (Lewy) that was only there for 4 years before leaving. There are massive differences between those two situations even though they both involve a player moving from Dortmund to Bayern.
  3. Yeah - signed for Dortmund at 8...but I couldn't imagine an 8 year old NOT being a fan of the team he is playing for, especially when it's a powerhouse like Dortmund. And he spent 12 years at BvB before choosing Bayern. I just think that was felt as more of a betrayal than Lewy's case as he was only there for 4 years...I meant he's been at Bayern longer than he was at BvB.
  4. I'll look for it, but there is actual photo evidence I believe on him as a kid wearing the Dortmund kit and I believe playing for them at a young age.
  5. I think there was a lot of reaction with Gotze, as he left his childhood club to that the 'dark side', only to fail miserably and come back. Lewandowski I think was more about seeing the writing on the wall.
  6. Yeah, that makes sense. I wasn't aware that he wanted out.
  7. Wagner has confirmed that Omar will remain as captain for this year.
  8. Hindsight is 20/20, and I know we've discussed this a lot in the past, but I doubt any club can do worse than Inter Milan when it comes to selling way too early.
  9. That is certainly troubling about Rashica...if he is on his way out, that is going to be Bremen's task a lot more difficult.

    What are you listening to?

Thanks to @Tommy - I have had this song in my head since yesterday.
  11. The Bundesliga released this graphic, which I find somewhat amusing. Probably could have helped @DeadLinesman when he was picking a 'Bundlesliga team'.
  12. Started this on vacation, and so far I'm really enjoying it!
  13. Last minute addition to the preseason schedule, and due to short notice, no live stream will be available.

Demko was stopped 90 of 91 shots in the 2 games he's played...massive.

What a class gesture for the Canucks as the entire team goes to him once it's over. NBC has given him the honors of 3 star, 2 star, and 1 star. Haha absolutely brilliant night for the rookie.

Ha - they just showed Demkos save before goal #4, and he literally swung his pad out blindly, behind his back, to get Vegas scoreless.

Congrats @Viva la FCB! Canucks just made it 4-0, and Demko has put in a performance for the ages tonight...God like really. I don't think you guys were the better team tonight, but an individual performance is enough in hockey to mitigate other deficiencies. Just under 2 minutes remaining and I hope Demko gets the SO...and then POTG....and then an ice cold shot of vodka and a good sleep..stopping 50 shots in 3 periods is no easy task.

Probably, but since my team is out, let's get some fresh blood in there! Islanders vs Stars baby!

Big night for ya @Viva la FCB. Would love to see the Flyers and Canucks win so we 3 Game 7's. I'm still surprised Lightning made such quick work of the Bruins.
  23. Well, ESPN bought the rights to show all of the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga here in the States, so now I can watch every game, every week, and all the replays for a whopping $10/mo. (I already have this as they also have all the MLS games and Serie A). So, over the past couple of weeks I have been reading the wikipedia pages and other information on each of the teams except for a select few, and just learning about them. Also, since I did have an Aunt stationed in Kaiserslautern for 12 years, my father and I would also take summer vacations to see her, and travel throughout Germany, so I have been to many of the cities which are represented here. Add to that, my Wife lived in Essen, Germany, for a year after high school and speaks some German, so I can finally get her excited about football on the TV now that the Bundesliga is much more accessible. Lastly, we have discussed moving to Germany in a year or two and raising our daughter there for a few years and let her gain the experience of another culture and language. As for Freiburg...it's one of the cities I have never been to, but the pictures are absolutely stunning. As someone who runs through the woods, and hikes/camps, the idea of a city lying in the Black Forest is just picturesque to me. Wife and I were looking at photos of the town and region and have put it on our bucket list for places to visit. I mean look at this...
