  1. They are called extroverts and the make up over 50% of the world's population.
  2. Wow. So Team USA is playing Team Iran in the World League on chess.com, and we have just been informed that the admin for Team Iran has died due to this virus. As odd as it may be, it's probably the closet I have to someone to me having lost their life to Covid-19.
  3. He's clearly drunk. No excuse, but it's pretty obvious he is.
  4. That's fine, and no where in my post did I say anything about USA doing the right things quickly enough, stop reading things that aren't there. All I'm saying is that countries that are have more tourists and air traffic are more likely not to have made the right decisions as those countries that are more controlled and have time to gather more information before making any drastic decisions. You applaud countries like Peru and El Salvalador, and do you know what they have in common? They don't attract as many visitors are the EU and the States. So yeah, El Salvador shutting down their borders and building hospitals is great, but this shit has been going on for over a month so it's nice that they are able to watch the virus wreck the world and then make an informed decision. Certain countries (like Italy and the rest of the EU) weren't able gather evidence of it's true devastation in time before it ended up infecting their country. I'm not debating what they are doing NOW to combat it, I'm talking specifically about the shutting down of the borders, forced isolation, etc.
  5. An absolute twat at his zenith. Sad thing is that this idiot is likely to get elected again.
  6. I hate to bring this up again, but I think you are missing the boat on this...big time. Most of the 'First World Countries' as you like to mention, has a lot more tourists, businesses, and the likes, and had infected citizens before it became a 'global pandemic'. Yeah sure, it's easy now for a country with 0 cases to close the borders and build hospitals, but it's a vastly unfair comparison. My father-in-law's wife is from Peru, just got back actually, and is currently being treated for Coronavirus. Outside of her, the amount of people that travel to Peru is NOTHING like it is for the European countries and the USA.
  7. We are one of the only countries I can find that have more fatalities than recovered.
  8. I'm sure it's been posted, but I have become obsessed with watching Bing's Covid map. https://www.bing.com/covid
  9. That is surpringsly considering that China has almost double the amount of cases. Iran is also has a horrendous ratio of Confirmed Cases to Death.
  10. ...yeah, just realized that. Whoops. I have become a stay at home Dad this past week, please bare with me.
  11. I mean I wouldn't say NO, but realistically I don't see how any races happen this year. I think they'll crown the winners of each league as it stands now, and then cancel the EL and CL. Just my thought.
  12. I can't help but consider the fact that F1 may just cancel the entire season and start with 2021. Sucks, but with it being such a worldwide sport, I just don't see how they'll be able to okay traveling across the world while this is still going on.
  13. JUST FINISHED 7.5/10 CURRENTLY READING
  14. Couldn't help but think of myself, @nudge, and the other introverts in the world when I saw this story. This is the type of guy that doesn't have Covid-19.
  15. Just got a text asking if I had heard the news from Italy that they quit treating the elderly because they couldn't keep up with the death toll. Sounds like Grade A fake news, and I can't find anything about it online.
  16. I am shocked how a few companies are reacting to Covid [in a good way]. Uber eats yesterday were offering free delivery for all orders, so that you didn't have to leave your house for food. A few teams in the NBA are keeping to their schedule, but instead of two teams playing in an arena, they coaches are playing one another in NBA2k20 and live streaming it on Twitch. Chess.com and a few of a major chess streamers have been on Twitch 24/7 showing content for those stuck in their house.
  17. haha the Pro Chess League is in the semi-finals, so I get to see Canada Chessbrahs play the Chicago Wind... I'll see myself out.
  18. This whole coronavirus has certainly given me ample time to study, play chess online, and even watch Chess online.
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you only need to be tested if you have any symptoms correct? If that's the case, then certainly you can't blame the US as we just started getting hit with this virus a couple of weeks ago after Europe and Asia got infected.
  20. I have heard that this may not be the case. Italy has just tested more people and and thus had more confirmed cases. I believe they were the first to control crowds, delay the league, and take extra measures. It seems like they have done a good job considering the fact, and just because they are reporting more cases, doesn't mean countries like Germany and France don't have as many effected people (but just not diagnosed).
  21. Looks like he is organizing things before he leaves, hard to think that is worthy of 'dunce'.
  22. I know people hate RB, but I do hope they perform well for Jesse Marsch's sake. He is an incredibly likable guy, and hope he finds success and continue to move up the coaching ranks in Europe.
