  1. Next time I'm in SD I might ask for some recommendations and do a pub crawl. You're right about the taste though, every micro-brewery seems to have an IPA, Stout, and an Ale, and then all of their 'craft' beers.
  2. I love trying local breweries whenever I visit. Their is a trappist brewery in New York that I want to visit. Columbus, Ohio, also has a toooooooooooooooooonnnnnn of great breweries.
  3. Ah - yeah I guess that does make more sense when you compare the water used in beer, and not bottled water in general. I also find it funny how people think American Beer is awful, but only look towards the Budweiser and Coors. We have a few breweries here that make fantastic beer. Ommegang, Goose Island, Abita, even Sweetwater here in Atlanta makes great beer. There has been an explosion of micro/craft breweries here in the States, and probably my favorite one is Unknown Brewery. I'll see if @Spike and @Dr. Gonzo agree as they both live/have lived in the States for some time.
  4. It's a bit different thought right? I'm from Atlanta, home of Coke, and no matter where I go, if I get a Dasani, it's taste the same to me. Whereas if I'm out to eat and get a water here, it'll taste VERY different than when I travel to Chattanooga and have some of their water.
  5. I'm not a major gamer, but was big back in the day. My buddy informed me that Starcraft is now available online for free, so I have played that for a few rounds and it's massively nostalgic. I do play A LOT of chess online though, and have been spending more time on Twitch watching some of my favorite chess players. I don't really understand why, but watching people play chess, talking about it, listening to music, drinking, etc, is something I could watch for HOURS.
  6. I have heard from multiple people that Guiness doesn't travel well. I'm not a fan of it here, but it's odd how that can happen with beers.
  7. Holy smokes man...his story, plus that movie, are likely to be absolutely brilliant.
  8. Is this based on a true story?
  9. Ah - funny enough, their is one grocery store that does this, Aldi, and they are from Sweden. Otherwise, that is a very foreign concept in America but genius really when you consider the amount of time and effort stores put in gathering up all of their carts in the parking lot.
  10. I also like to drink Warsteiner, particularly while watching the Bundesliga. Dunkel, Lager, doesn't matter as I find it rather tasty.
  11. I have never had it, but I'll check it out and grab a pack next time I find it.
  12. I have never been able to get into Heinekin. Dos Equis is one I can get behind, for sure. Sol and DE are similar to me, and typically Sol is cheaper here so I just gave a case of that and I'm on my way.
  13. That's not too bad really. I'm surprised Union Berlin and others are that much now that I have something to compare them to.
  14. Fair enough. See I find Carta Blanca a bland beer, but if the minute Sol touches my lips, I know it's either time to relax and enjoy life. It's my 'go to beer' that I always have in the fridge, and man it's heavenly for a go to beer.
  15. Eintracht Braunschweig are much cheaper I see. 67 Euros /year.
  16. Holy shit - Union Berlin is 120 euro a year Can't even find how much one for Eintracht Frankfurt is...but I am going to assume it's expensive as hell.
  17. Idk...I think their are situations for all kinds of beer. Give me a stout in the winter, and give me a Bud/Coors Light in the Hot Summer. Although for 'basic' light beer, nothing beats Sol. My god it's heavenly.

What a dick weed that guy is.
  19. I get it as I read your post. I was just comparing them as Kolsch is very light and taste similar to water, yet is a German beer.
  20. I dont mind them either. But after the meme of American beer tasting like water, I figured it was all too easy.
  21. Ha - the truth hurts It's not a bad drink as sometimes a light, crisp, easy drink it was the occasion calls for. But it's similar to some generic American beers in ABV and taste profile, just with a different strand of yeast.
