The most far fetched thing about the episode. by far, is jon in full clothes swimming to the surface of a frozen lake, then surviving the hours back to the wall in said clothes.

Followed by huge dragon lifting chains out of nowhere

    Followed by Benjin ex machina

Followed by the days/weeks waiting on a frozen lake

Followed by the night king and his buddies not using those magic power spears they can throw so far and majestically at Jon and co while they were witting ducks on 50 square meters of land

Followed by Sansa and Arya fighting a pointless argument over what boils down to fuck all.

But dragons!!! Excitement!!! Banter!!!   'BEST EPISODE EVAH!!!"

Well we need to have a bit of context here, don't always assume that it's playing out at the same time. Sansa said Jon had been gone weeks but the pacing suggests it's days or even hours.

Regarding the raven read this it will make your brain hurt

I wouldn't read on, they'll no doubt be spoliers.

Although I will give you the point about Benjen it could have been handled better and in general it has suffered a little because of the reduced episode count t could have been spread over 10 and handled more skillfully.

  2. He was shouting you know what, honestly I'm not shocked anymore it's every other day we foil or suffer an attack now in Europe. It's fucked long term, we'refucked, unless rapid massive cultural change within that community or rapid decline in birth rates we know how this ends, vicious attritional war most likely for our grandchildren.

  3. What is it with you Aussie fuckers? Another week another post saying "it's shit", my personal theory is because of the culture you come from the only point of reference you have is the nights watch.

  4. I couldn't wait till Monday, I won't spoil it and I think it's only fair that we don't say anything until after Monday. This has eclipsed Lord of the Rings now in my estimation it's that good

She's like 19 or 20.... only one year younger than Sansa mate.

She's 20 but still looks young and her character is about 13-14. Maybe I'm just getting old now but I don't find her remotely attractive she looks like a child, for me it's not even a consideration.

  6. I find the fawning over Williams creepy, she was introduced as a little girl and her characters a little girl regardless of the actress now being 18. Let's be fair she still looks a little girl too really, I think I'd want some of you not within 100 yards of a school.

  7. I think the battle of the bastards charge scene is up there with anything scene in Hollywood. This was good about par with the attack on the wall or hardholme or blackwater

Shes a really good actress to be honest. One of my guilty pleasures was the remake of Judge Dredd in which again she is a fantastic villain.

yeas fully agreed it was a great film and she was great in that to.

She is very clearly portrayed as a novice player in the books. Almost pitied by most players such is her predictability. I.e. tyrion, baelish and varys.

Good example being the near catastrophic error of judgement to arm the faith in kings landing in book 4.  Or her determination to take down their main ally in the tyrells creating an unnecessary war that ultimately destroyed her legacy and leaves the throne without an heir.

She's not portrayed as a novice in the first three aside from maybe Baelish & Varys who're likely to carry that opinion of all the court. In book 4 she's wild but it is just after having lost her son, I think Tyrian's quote is something like "she makes stupid decisions when she's angry", granted she gets her fingers burned by the faith militant but we've not seen how that plays out in the books yet. I don't get your point because Tyrian, Robb, Baelish, Varys even all have made errors.

Anyway this is a TVs version Martin has said a few times the books are the books this is it's own beast, for me she's a great character who you grudgingly respect dispute wishing death upon her, Lena Headey has been magnificent from word go also I think she'll go down as an all time legendary to villain.

  10. We all blame the states and they're never blameless but OPEC basically started fucking one another over anyway ignoring quotas because they had spent the cash. Venezuela and its current problems are much more about running a financially viable welfare/social program off the back off an economy entirely dependent on one resource which has fluctuated widely.

Long story short they spent to much off the back of a gold rush from spiking oil prices and they didn't spend it in the correct manner. Now they're doubling down and blaming the states and the bourgeoisie types rather than recognise they had a chance for a better future but they fucking blew it. To maintain control they've started killing and sham elections so we basically have a dictatorship

  11. Apparently Ken Livingstone has backed the Murdero Government in the times, he also said that Chavez didn't execute the elites xD

    Quote

“Hugo Chávez did not execute the establishment elite, he allowed them to continue so they’re still there”, he told The Times. “I think there’s a lot of rumours they’ve been blocking the important food and medicines and things like that because they control a lot of the companies.

He added: “America has got a long record of undermining any left-wing government as well. So I suspect it’s not all just down to the problems of the [Venezuelan] government.”

Asked whether he continued to support Mr Maduro, he replied: “Oh God, yes.”

As much as he and many in the current Labour party are fruitloops in general, surely this is the onset of dementia?

Jamie Lannister becomes something of a tactical genius in the books. It's displayed when he retakes riverrun. She also has Tarly, who is a life long solider, and Euron, who IS the best ship captain in the world on her side, so I am not at all surprised their navy has twice been rekt and Jamies vanguard decoy.

There's a talk by Jamie at the end with Lady Olena about using the tactic Robb used on him at whispering wood. It's literally explained there and then in the episode.

I get the feeling that a few people just want to appear hard to please now by running it down and saying it's not as good now it's off Martin's dialogue. I think in areas they've made improvements, In others not so much. It still dicks on another to show from a very great height however
