  1. What is it you do again mate? I'd gladly do some voluntary work part time(in hope you still get paid though of course, as cuntish as that sounds ) in times like this if it was an essential job. It keeps you busy.
  2. I've decided I'm done with work, I didn't want to be there at all, so I fucked off. It will shut by the end of the week anyway(or perhaps the week after) as they will run out of materials and can't order any more due to all their suppliers being ordered to shut. They should however already be shut, especially when you look at how horrible the facilities are. They are cleaned once per week at the most. Dirty place. Nevermind Corona, you'll probably catch AIDS on that site even at the best of times. I just spoke to my accountant on the way home and went through everything from this (tax) year and he told me how much the least was that I'd be looking at receiving and it worked out lovely. I will be fine financially due to that as they are going to speed it up for me so that I receive it by May. Not to mention, I have enough in my savings to cover it on its own. I'll sit on my arse all day smoking weed, eating and earning 90 quid for a bit. It's a massive shame not to be able to return to Barcelona around the time the derby was scheduled to take place(or perhaps the Atletico game, I was deciding between both) and see a bird I met there, take a trip to San Sebastian a month or 2 after that and then head to Portugal before the end of the summer(along with some fishing whenever I could), but what can you do? It's about saving lives now(all over the world) and respecting probably the greatest thing this country has:- the NHS, in fact, respecting all the health care systems around the world because they are the ones really on the front-line right now. It's for the best. I also don't think we give enough credit to people who work in shops or supermarkets, as they still have to go about their working business, which puts them at risk of contracting the virus. They are given absolutely nowhere near the credit they deserve in society, same for the delivery driver who brought me food last night.
  3. Let's also note that there are people down here from Hull and Scarborough, they are staying in hotels mon-fri then going home to Yorkshire on Fri-Sun. So surely that is putting them and their family's health at risk, and for nothing? Shopkeepers, doctors, nurses, the police, the army...these needs to keep going, building anything other than a hospital, at a time like this really isn't necessary. You're also very prone to contracting colds, flu and other bugs on building sites, which leads me to believe that it would make a perfect "habitat"(if that is the word) for such a virus to thrive and if one person gets it, the site gets it, then all their family get it. It's simple. I'd love to keep working in order to make money as I could save more than ever right now with doing so, but this isn't about money now, it's about protecting lives and even protecting the future in how we all live our lives. The longer it takes to truly act, the far worse the problem becomes.
  4. Borris is a fucking cretin really isn't he. How in the fucking world can you keep social distancing on a building site? Yesterday, all the sparkies were sat outside the brew cabin, pretty much hugging, everyone who works are in 2s or 3s and you cannot avoid people, you're constantly walking past people(and can't walk 2 meters away as there isn't a 2 meter gap, or anything close to it. It's impossible.) It also leaves us inclined to piling into a supermarket at brew time for food and the only other people you see in there are over 70s in general. I'm gona take some pictures today and show just what social distancing is on a site(obviously without any faces being seen). I also saw my mates yesterday from another site when I was on my dinner and 5 of them jumped out of a van. They might as well have been hugging and kissing. The last site I worked on is even worse, they made you wear gloves at all times(even when you were walking across the site and not touching anything) in order to prevent catching Weil's disease(who the fuck catches that anyway?) yet they are still open during such an outbreak and there are people from literally all over the country on there. You need to sign in using your finger print and can only smoke in one section, which is a tiny little cramped area at that. How do people eat in a brew room as well? When 100+ people work on a site, you can't all go in 3 at once and have your half an hour. The new(well I've been there 2 months) site I'm on barely has facilities either as it's like a building site from the 1960s. I'd shut that down even at the best of times...
  5. The only people I've seen out today, yesterday and last friday in general are over 70s. They seem to be everywhere. Stop being so fucking stubborn
  6. All construction work still going on. It's ridiculous really. I doubt we will last the week, but we should have been sent home today. Only a few companies have shut theirs down.
  7. I just went to the shop then for a few bits(it's the first time I've been out, other than for work today, since Friday afternoon, after I finished work), the takeaways are shut, pub and bookies are shut(of course), I only saw 5 people on the streets and 3 were wearing masks, I went into the spar, all the staff wore masks and gloves and there were only 2 other customers(not usual for this time of the night). It then had a sign up saying that they are shut from 9 pm tonight until further notice. Probably the most eerie experience of all this yet. It's now REAL.
  8. Honestly, we need to be careful here though as once this virus is over, we may see a war and the last thing we want is for a war to break out between countries such as the USA and China. I've always thought that there was something very eerie about the number "2020".
  9. There's been cases in Lancaster now as well. Small city(which would be regarded as a big town if it didn't have a Cathedral) and one of those where you know everyone(apart from students as they come and go of course), so one person getting it could mean half of a city getting it very easily.
  10. But China were trying to hide it from the world at first mate and they did the same with SARS, until cases appeared in Hong Kong. It's a serious matter and the world needs to know immediately, especially when you consider the time of year it was aswell. I'm not blaming the whole population of China for the record. But their government and the way their country operates is dangerous. We are all fucked now either way. Spain are probably going to be hit even worse than Italy by the end of it and if people don't start taking it seriously over here then we will end up in the same boat, as being English doesn't make us any more invincible than the next man. Honestly I don't even want to work now but have no choice until the site actually closes. On the site I'm on, there are people from Lancaster, Morecambe, Preston, Wigan, Blackburn, Liverpool, Hull, Scarborough and Stoke. That's how shit spreads. Stopping movement between towns at this point is as important as stopping it between countries.
  11. This is the problem here to be honest. People being scared of being labelled racist(well and losing money...). This is why the whole world won't shut their boarders to China forever. We simply cannot trust that country and there is nothing racist about that. If they are lying and trying to hide outbreaks until they reach other countries (just like they also did with SARS) then that makes them a huge threat to us all. They can't be trusted. What if the next virus that appears there turns out being as deadly as black death and they try and hide it until it's too late? We can't take risks. There's no proof, but It probably started in China.
  12. North Korea have actually done the best job if you want to look at it that way.
  13. They have surpassed China's death toll and with half as many cases. Scary shit, even if Italy is one the countries with the most elderly in the world. Spain ain't looking too good now either with over 17,000 cases and over 800 deaths. I notice a pattern though, the number of cases are growing like fuck in the north and central part of the country but the south, while it has cases, doesn't seem to be having anywhere near the amount of cases rising everyday. Maybe once the heatwave hits the whole of Spain in the next month or so, it may help contain this virus. One thing I find interesting(if that's the word to use here) is how much the cases have risen there, as they were behind France and Germany, but have now eclipsed their number of cases. Still though, France and Germany have been hit hard enough themselves and the UK now has 2,600+ cases, which will be 4,000 by tomorrow, we are just behind them. Speaking of heatwaves, it's fucking freezing here in England so if this virus does thrive in the cold, then we are fucked. As it stands, we aren't on shutdown like other countries and I don't have a sense of it being "Erie", but rather tense and heated. I've nearly had two full on fist fights at work this week, this is all because of the virus. Everyone's head is up their arse as they know subconsciously that something serious is occurring, something none of us have experienced. I also believe there will be shitloads of looting in England before long. If I end up out of work then I'm going to either start up a little thing where I do all the elderly and vulnerable shopping in the area, or go out on the streets helping the army and police spray fuck out of everything, or whatever else they have to do. I feel as though it's my duty to do something. Besides, being sat at home all day watching the tele speaking about the thing which is preventing us from going out will likely create mental health issues I believe. It could be the end of my sanity, this is my biggest fear as I'm not exactly the most mentally stable of people anyway. What's Amsterdam looking like at the moment? @Panna King, @Panflute
  14. Vile country, this is all their doing and every country around the world should shut their boarders to them forever.
  15. El Alavés confirma 15 positivos de coronavirus, tres de ellos jugadores Alaves have confirmed 15 positive cases of corona virus, 3 of them being footballers.
  16. Republic democratic of the Congo have also reported a few cases. It would be horrible if they were to have a serious outbreak as they are already going through a terrible one with Measles, mainly affecting the under 5s. 6,000 deaths and over 250,000 cases.
  17. Reports of cases now coming from the likes of Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia and literally all of North, Central and South America now have cases. Even Greenland have a case now I think!
  18. Things are rather normal here but certainly starting to fall into that "eerie" category, due to how much everybody is on guard and it being the only thing everyone is talking about. I'm not surprised it's gone eerie though in Spain as the cases are rising quickly now there:- Madrid (4.165), Cataluña (1.394) y País Vasco (727) Those 3 are the worst hit so far. Spain will be fucked after this, same with Italy. In fact, the whole of world will be. Then the rest of the country will probably follow.
  19. That's a point. Fuck toilet rolls(you can use your sink as a bidet...) and fuck food(I live about 1.5 mile from the country, I will kill sheep or something), I think it's time I bought a kilo of weed just in case!
  20. This time last week, I had just been to see loads of sights, to the beach and was at Camp Nou watching the game, everything was normal, even though an outbreak happening was inevitable. Just a week later and the whole city is shut, with only pharmacies and supermarkets open, all sport suspended and signs up everywhere advising people to stay at home unless it's essential. It's only going to be the same here though very soon mind. We are simply just a bit behind Spain, that's all and it'll be total lockdown for us soon unfortunately.
  21. This has affected the North of Italy more than the South, which is more similar to Greece and Cyprus. Also South America's cases are now rising, Brazil has now reached the 100s and once that happens, the amount of cases seem to grow and grow in no time. Spain, for example, has gone from just 3 cases to over 5,000 within weeks. South American countries are simply just a few weeks behind and will be hit as hard as anyone unfortunately. Likewise, England and Netherlands are simply just a week or 2 behind Spain, who are a week or 2 behind Italy. There seems to be a pattern and this is going to keep spreading. Hopefully it doesn't hit Africa too badly either as they have enough to deal with already. Same with countries like Venezuela as Ricardo has mentioned.
  22. Yeah I feel fine to be honest, even though I recently shook hands, kissed cheeks, attended an event of 80,000+ people, travelled through an airport, etc in a country that started to have a serious outbreak while out there. I might even get tested to be sure? After all, the reason it's in Spain is because of people who had gone there from Italy during the outbreak. Most cases were of people who were in Italy just as the outbreak started and then weren't diagnosed with the virus until over a week after actually being in Spain. I haven't been at work yesterday or today. My excuse is that I want to see if I come out with any symptoms, but in reality, I just couldn't be arsed going. It's only 2 days missed work, I can make it up in the next few weekends if I need to. Madrid has well over 2,000 now But Catalunya itself has 500+ now as well. I went there just at the right time as everything was as normal. Well, it could technically turn out being just at the wrong time if I have contracted it. La Sagrada Familia is closed and when you saw it on RTVE, the area around it looked quiet and you don't see that as it's usually full of people. It'd be difficult to buy it though as nobody would want to come near me
  23. If I contract it, then I will receive just 73 quid a week due to being self employed. I've just found out. If this cheeky cunt of a government think that I'd be staying in on 73 quid a week, then they are living in cuckoo land. That's a fucking absolute and utter insult. Dole dossers who have no intention of even trying to find a job receive more than that. I bet that horror of an MP who has contracted it won't be receiving only 73 quid a week will she? Saying that, I remember being out of work for 7 weeks due to a work related injury and had to take out loans to get by as I received fuck all, so you can't really expect anything different in this country. He's not though, as he wouldn't earn 73 quid a week if he caught it. He'd be recieving the same 1,000s he receives for being at work. He isn't the voice here. He's just being a typical condescending English cunt.
  24. Spain now have 2,200 cases and literally half of them are in Madrid. It looks to be getting out of hand.
  25. Well, even that's hard if you are in a public place and after washing your hands, you have to touch taps, door handles, etc, seconds later...
