  1. Ye, a camel ride in the Saharan desert. I was only about 12 and spent around 5 of 14 days ill as fuck but the desert was the best part albeit being a long bus ride there if I remember correctly. Stayed in Sousse and had a day in the capital Tunis. It was an experience, other than catching some illness, and along with Athens was different to all the other holidays I went on as a kid with my parents. Most were on Spanish Islands and the Spanish coast.
  2. By October or so, they will have likely lifted it anyway I'd have thought. But we'll have to see as anything can suddenly change at the moment. We can't really predict what will happen next. I'd go tomorrow though if I could. If I die, I die.
  3. They haven't mentioned that here. But by September it could all be lifted anyway, especially here.
  4. It may be the best time to go too as everyone will be scared to go away so soon. 3 seats all to yourself on a plane, that'd do me . Probably September time would be more ideal. Keep an eye on how things work first. What I don't understand is the 2 week quarantine after it? To arrive home from the airport, it involves a train home, so what difference would it make?
  5. Spain will be open from July to foreign tourists they are saying today .
  6. New York would be a good start for me due to the short flight in comparison to the rest, but I would actually say that only 4 states interested me anyway. New York(mainly for the hip hop culture), Florida, Nevada and Los Angeles. The rest of the parts in the Americas are in Mexico, South America and Caribbean. Canada would probably be the best country to live in overall for the record. You can see why many English people move there nowadays and Australia as the standard of living is better than anywhere. The Americas is by far the most attractive side of the planet though easy.
  7. There was actually an E block and C block, as they were separated from the main building Funnily enough I was working across from the back of the school a few years back as there used to be a farm there, which has been demolished with houses being built and I could see in the background that the school has a huge fence around it nowadays. So it's funny you mention prison..
  8. Chips used to taste better from chippies aswell. Most are shit now.

This is why I'm surprised you haven't seen it. Definitely a nudge movie Classic. It was probably like that when @Bluewolf was at school...

You should do, it's a class, although you may need subtitles, even the best of English speakers do
  11. Anyway @DeadLinesman I was actually going to ask you about the States since you seem to go there a bit. Which states have you been to mate?

It looks like nothing. If you didn't know, you would jump across it without a care in the world. Looks like a harmless stream. Surely you've seen the legendary film "Kes"?
  13. Haha that's actually not even the reason why as it's not really my thing anymore but I would likely try some given how cheap it'd be . Bogota as well probably.
  14. Colombia will be the first South American country I'll end up in probably, due to the convenience and the fact it seems alot safter to travel there than Brazil nowadays. Medellin, Cartagena or Santa Marta seem fine to visit now compared to the past. Argentina and Uruguay are difficult to reach from England without alot of stopovers. Colombia is itself but if you went there after a week in Florida, it's straight a forward flight, as would going to Mexico from Colombia. Then you can take flights straight back to Manchester from various parts of Mexico.

    Check this then in Yorkshire @nudge, @Berserker, @Stan, @Bluewolf, @Inti Brian
  16. Greece are opening their boarders from the 1st July without any quarantine.
  17. Best way would be to starve yourself of sleep the night before so that you sleep for most of the flight. South America on a bus would be rough. They won't have roads like in Germany anyway... I'm actually surprised you've never been to Spain, Portugal, Italy or Greece. Saying that I've only been to 2 of those(Spain and 4 of its Islands and Greece) but heavy tourism aside, there is so much natural beauty and fascinating architecture there, while only being a short flight away. It's almost blasphemy for someone such as yourself who has travelled alot Where is the best city to visit in Southern Canada that would be quick to reach from New York? Toronto itself? Montreal? Every country(other than 2) that I want to visit, and haven't already, are outside Europe and even then I'd personally rather see more of Spain than go to a random European country just for the sake of it. Most countries would be in the Americas to be honest, South, north and Carribbean. In terms of Asia, Thailand would be amazing for fishing and India for the people. Kenya in Africa would be amazing, but it's too dodgy nowadays. Australia is too far, but that would be amazing I'd have thought aswell. Saying that, anywhere outside of Europe won't be happening for a while now, due to a financial blow and boarders potentially being closed for quite a while, so I should focus on on Europe being back open and stop dreaming It's not like there isn't a choice: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, all the islands that surround those countries, Cyprus, Switzerland..
  18. You could buy real ciggies if you came around the back of E block and found me. 2 for a quid
  19. I'd say I went to secondary school at the perfect time to be honest. There was also the £1 special from the local chippy. Sausage, chips and gravy(or peas/curry) for just a quid! You can't even afford the gravy on its own for that now.
  20. I bet it has seriously changed over the years in terms of unhealthy food and sugar. Nobody cared in the 90s or very early 00s .
  21. Our school was full of fizzy drink machines and chocolate bar machines. As for dinners, anything unhealthy you can think of such as burgers or pizzas . Our school dinners were actually top notch, especially the chicken burgers and chips they serve up.
  22. I still remember being ill in January and it was definitely this. I felt like I was getting bronchitis, couldn't breath when doing tasks I always do and completely lost my sense of smell/taste for 10 days, the latter I was paranoid as fuck about as I'd never completely lost my sense of smell and taste before. After speaking to a few people today on the phone I now know atleast 8 people from(or who worked) around here who all had the same and are now looking back on it and realising what they probably had. We all get flu and colds but this was leading people to Google what they had caught, as it was different to your usual cold or flu. I was skitzing thinking I'd lost my sense of smell and taste forever, my mate was at home for 10 days googling Weil's disease, another was rubbing Vicks all over his face... It's been here longer than people claim if you ask me. I was taking the piss at the time saying I had it, although didn't think I actually did as it had only been reported in the far east at that point. Looking back now though, it must have been it, I cannot think what else it'd have been.
  23. Ye I've given up planning, but they were the plans pre-covid, or atleast a rough idea. 15 hours? Jesus , I would literally crack up on a 15 hour flight. It would be even worse if having to wear a mask also, which will likely be the new future. I'm not sure about the rail networks there, but @Inti Brian will surely know as he has been everywhere in that part of the world. Taking a train is certainly a better option than flying though if the option is there. Not only more leg room and comfort but you can open windows and you see many sights on your journey. You don't have to wait for hours before setting off either. I will have to check that out on bbc as that sounds interesting.
  24. Yeah too many countries at once involves too much travelling, that's why I'd just do 2/3 at the most at once, unless like you said, you were going for longer. I think 5-6 days(a total of 15-18 days) in 3 different places is still worth it though if said places are within a 2 or so hour flight from each other, but too many flights and bullshit inbetween would be tiresome more than anything. Canada is probably more interesting to be honest. But a reason for starting in the USA is because it's easier to get to from Manchester. A good start to become more accustomed to longer flights. Argentina and Uruguay are 2 that stand out but actually reaching them is a farce and this is when you'd be better going for at least month or so. Getting to Florida from the UK is easy(and I'd love to go fishing there!) albeit being a 10 hour flight, then getting to Colombia from there is easy itself(and the flight isn't too long, a few hours), as is reaching Mexico from Colombia. Then getting back from Mexico to the UK is also easy, this is why I believe a 2/3 week trip would work well within these 3 destinations. Cuba seems beautiful(the beaches and sea especially, they look photo-shopped they are so stunning), I know a family who go there every year almost. If not there, it's Costa Rica. New York/Canada is also a good starting point for me as the flight is around 7/8 hours, so it's a great start in becoming more accustomed to long flights when the longest I've been on was probably only about 4 hours.
