  1. 10 second penalty for wiping another driver out when battling for the win which won't affect his position. Should be a 10 place grid penalty next weekend at the very least.
  2. Max needs a BIG penalty. The worst bit is when he ran him onto the grass when he had a puncture.
  3. Best case scenario for this race is Max runs Hards and Norris runs Mediums in the final stint. Might get a race then.
  4. Forest getting in on it now. Have to say I can't see how losing Elanga for Elliot Anderson would go down as appealing from their point of view. I didn't realise Newcastle's PSR situation was so bad. I thought the Minteh deal would get them over the line.
  5. Comfortable for Germany in the end. Not really surprising when you look at Denmark's group stage performance. Might have been interesting if the Danish opener had stood.
  6. The handball rule continues to take us closer to a place where wingers would be better off practising how to win handball penalties by lumping the ball at a defender's general upper body than practising how to beat a man. Just feels like referees are looking to catch defenders out on a technicality.
  7. Good signing from what I've seen. £35m is some investment though.
  8. Probably the most one sided game I've watched in the tournament apart from Germany vs Scotland.
  9. Ratcliffe, new to this whole big six ownership lark, says the quiet part out loud.
  10. Race was over as soon as Norris lost position to Oscar. I'm all for fair play between team mates but McLaren currently have the joint fastest car and they need to start being ruthless if they want to beat Max. Why they didn't swap the cars when they were 2.5s off the lead is absolutely beyond me, and then swap them back on the last lap if Lando couldn't catch up. Leaving things the way they were just guaranteed they'd get 2nd and 3rd and nothing better.
  11. The amount of time Norris loses behind Piastri will be the exact gap he needs to catch Max at the end of the Sprint. Just watch.
  12. Didn't Trump say out loud that if he was President he'd basically not be fussed what Putin does or doesn't do? No matter how weak Biden is, Trump's stance is still more damaging to Ukraine and the big picture defence of Western democracy.
  13. Good question - because it's the Knockout round we'll accept any win in normal time, extra time or penalties.
  14. Had Norris-Hamilton-Piastri, changed now to Norris-Piastri-Leclerc so prepare for a stormer from Sir Lewis this weekend.
  15. Heading to Chelsea now apparently. Have to wonder whether this is a case of a player linking up with his former manager, or whether Chelsea just think that "Dewsbury Hall" is a hotel.
  16. Much needed attacking option. He could offer us an alternative to Doucoure behind the striker or add options out wide to compete with Harrison and McNeil, which Danjuma and Dobbin were unable to do properly last season. Not really sure what happened in Marseille but his numbers for Sheffield United in the Championship were very impressive. Seems like the type of transfer that could go either way but with a very high ceiling if it goes well.
  17. He's too weak on the ball to be a full-back or a wing back and he isn't good enough in the air to play as a traditional central defender. Apparently Atalanta play with three central defenders and the perfect role for him is to play on the right-hand side of that back three. It's a great move for him and a good deal for us. We make a loss on the player but in terms of what we could realistically have expected to pull in for him heading into the last year of his contract, I think anything over £10m is a good deal for us. This is a transfer where everyone wins quite comfortably I think. I hope it works out for him.
  18. Alright @Pyfish @Lucas @...Dan @Bluewolf @The Palace Fan Nobody made a correct prediction in Gameweek Three, so to determine a winner, we are having a tie breaker this round - we must find a winner! We will progress through the following stages until only one person remains - you need to pick: A match winning team that you haven't already used in the first three rounds. If you fail to do this, you are eliminated! A player from any match to score at anytime. If more than one person selects a player that scores, whichever one scored in the earliest minute of their game will be deemed the winning pick. The time of first goal in the randomly selected match, Switzerland vs Italy. If multiple people make it through the last two stages of the tie breaker, whoever gets closest on this guess will be crowned Last Man Standing. Below are the fixtures - good luck! Switzerland vs Italy Germany vs Denmark England vs Slovakia Spain vs Georgia France vs Belgium Portugal vs Slovenia Romania vs Netherlands Austria vs Turkiye
  19. Sorry for notifying again but the deadline is TODAY in about 6 hours' time and we only have 4 sets of predictions in. (This is why I hate doing Sprint questions!!) Last reminder: @Whiskey @nudge @Tommy @MUFC @Coma @The Palace Fan
  20. Saturday 29th June, 2024 Switzerland 1-2 Italy, 17.00 Germany 2-1 Denmark, 20.00 Sunday 30th June, 2024 England 2-1 Slovakia, 17.00 Spain 4-0 Georgia, 20.00 Monday 1st July, 2024 France 3-0 Belgium, 17.00 Portugal 2-0 Slovenia, 20.00 Tuesday 2nd July, 2024 Romania 1-1 Netherlands, 17.00 Austria 2-1 Turkey, 20.00
  21. Trump is dangerous as a potential President. Biden looks to be a stammering mess but he'd at least be surrounded by normal, intelligible people to make a reasonable fist of running the country. The potential impact on global politics (mainly Russia) of Trump becoming President again is really frightening. It beggars belief really that the Democrats didn't have a plan for this. Biden just about got by at the last election. It should have been clear that putting him forward again in 2024 was really risky. The polls and bookies have both had this head to head as pretty close for most of this year. You'd think if the Democrats had allowed Biden to step down after one term and put someone decent with their wits about them forward instead then they probably could have pulled it off. Worrying times. Looking at the bookies odds this morning, Trump is favourite by the biggest gap I can remember seeing.
  22. The energy the Premier League are putting into this after Everton and Aston Villa have done each other a (legal) £3m-£5m sized favour compared to how quickly Chelsea's £80m hotel scandal was just shrugged off tells you everything you need to know about whose interests they're acting in.

  24. DeadLinesman: Norris Norris, Hamilton, Sainz 4th Perez
